For Modern US Coins, What Is The Best Day To Sell On Ebay?

I sell a lot of things on ebay, but almost no coins, but here is what I do for non-coin related items:
1. I always start and ened auctions Sunday evening, between 6 and 8pm on the West coast.
2. I try to figure out what the lowest average selling price is, and set my starting bid a bit below that (If the price I purchased the item for allows this, I won't start with a losing-money bid, generally). This way if I get just one bid, I will still make a profit, but it is still low enough to hopefully get some bidding going. I have, on several occassions, started something at a higher bid and got no bids, so I start it at a much lower price the next week, and it ends up selling for more than the starting bid from the week before when nobody bit. I think people see that someone else has bid on an item, and they feel more comfortable bidding on it.
3. I always charge shipping, and I usually include the fees that ebay charges on shipping as part of the shipping cost. I know some people will disagree with this strategy, but it works for me.

Why start at .99? Why not start at .01? I recently started a small lot of old canadians (you can see it from my links below)
I put it up last night for .01 free shipping. It already has bids from three different people. MUCH more attention than coins seem to get on the first day! a lot of things don't seem to get noticed until the last day. My strategy (and experiment) here was to see if getting in the "lowest price + shipping" category

I guess time will tell what it goes for, I'm not too sure what to expect on price. I'm guessing pretty low, but I keep getting surprised with what things can go for! The only thing is that with fees, you have to assume a loss of 15% when all is said and done. paypal and ebay both take their percentage from the initial amount, PLUS, fees for both sites go for shipping too, so you can't simply add the 9% ebay with the 2.9% paypal and think you get off with 11.9% fees. On top of that, you can't charge much for shipping because people would rather pay $15 free shipping than $10 with reasonable shipping below $5. It seems like you have to plan on posting the shipping charges a few dollars below cost, or go with FREE SHIPPING in order to get any interest.

Thats true but its still only 12 percent you just have to add the shipping fee on as well.

Really the simple answer to a lot of the questions is just that there is no right way to do ebay. BIN, auction, low starting price auctions will all at any given time result in prices higher and lower than the coin should have gotten. A lot of it is just luck of the draw that someone is looking for what you have and can afford it. If there was one thing that I would rank as the most important thing to a successful ebay listing I would say its having a coin in high demand with a good photo

If you wont be around you can pay the fee. If you want to avoid the fee, you can create the list ahead of time and save it for later then get on when you want it to end and post it without having to do it all then and there
