ebay seller nancye something right? Been discussed on here a few times. Seller is known to sell doctored up junk and juicing photos. I will see if I can dig up the past threads.

You are going to end up with a crappy doctored/photoshopped coin that you will most certainly be unhappy with You would think the buyer would attempt to cover their tracks a little better and get a new piece of carpet or something. That little bit of purple ugliness is a dead giveaway every time.

Ok, I just took a look at all of those links thank you jokingjoker. Clearly, it is the same seller as "Nancy" etc. BUT I actually purchased it from ANDYCAT61. This seller has 2471 positive feedback and is a member since 2007. HOWEVER, it appears that my paypal payment went to a "Nancy E-------n". Looks like Nancy has two long lived ebay profiles. Here is a link the sellers store. Check it out! Good thing I didn't win the 31-D for 66.59! LOL http://www.ebay.com/sch/andycat61/m...047675.l2562

I'm new to this so before I read comments I try to form some sort of opinion on the coin. The first thing that I thought of was the color looked unusual for its striking appearance. It still has some eye appeal.

Glad I read this thread. Won't be buying any coins from Nancy or ANDYCAT61 any time soon. :O

About 3 years ago I bought a few cheap LWC from nancye as a test. The "color" rinsed off easily with acetone revealing a normal, chocolate brown, circulated LWC with wear and contact marks consistent for the grade. They were actually worth about what I paid. I'm surprised this has been going on for so long. For $8 you will likely end up with an AU coin worth $4. Not a big deal but I'd like to warn the innocent!

This seller is a known coin doctor. I can spot one of their coins from a mile away. Just like Brad, I bought one years ago and the color rinsed right off with acetone and xylene.

BadThad or anyone else,
What are they using to create the unnatural color?

My guess....fingernail polish or paint.
The sad part, it's been going on for YEARS now and stupid buyers keep giving him/her/it good feedback.

Could be an airbrush too.
Not sure if it's still easy to bust him, but if you look at the problem coins he buys you can figure out what he's doing. We found few he bought and then sold...you could tell they were the same coin but painted.
