Nice double eagle Wheatback! Quite scarce compared to many other dates (and downright rare in MS) but likely priced at bullion value in lower circulated grades.
I follow this strategy as well, looking for scarce-date gold at whatever circulated grade brings the price into near-bullion range.

I love that 2017 100 coin, amazing design! I really like some of the modern designs for gold coins.

@Jaobler
I was able to get it under spot price. Of course it's dropped now, but I would buy another at the same price. I stash it away instead of cash just sitting!

Quote: Here is another Liberty, which I bought at the dip last week. Ed is it just me or is that 63 appear under graded ? It looks like a clear cut MS64 1904 Liberty "or better". While the obverse isn't perfect its a beautiful example and such a clean strike. I have a DBL ST Gaudens , a 1924, that may not be worth grading but I love the coin anyways. Congrats on a few lovely pre-'33's. I just added another Krugie in an impulse buy.

Some of my onzas and Libertads. I have some interesting examples in my collection and they are not cheap to buy, tho really not all that expensive either. I have 3 or 4 online bullion dealers with "contact me" messages should an interesting one come in and my LCS's have my phone number and they know to hold good condition low mintage coins for me. In my collection I have coins from 1982 "1st year", 1983 "2nd year onza 1,001,768", 1987 "500,000", 1995 "500,000", 1994 "400,000", 2017 "636,000", 2020 "300,000, 2021 "450,000", 2023 "613,000", 2024 "718,000", 2023 "613,000". And others, often ultiple coins of a single year. The tough ones are the years 1996 thru 1999 but I'm trying my best and hope to knock them down too. APMEX is a good source but the problem with them is they know exactly what they have. Anyway its a fun semi-numismatic project for what is my favorite coin. My base is ASE's but I love world coins and Libertads most of all. My absolute favorite coin.

With silver down, I purchased a 5oz ATB puck at my LCS. It was an unexpected find and not what I went in looking for, so I came away happy.
