this one is an MS-63, and it's definitely an MS-63 in the seal because I wouldn't grade it MS-62 or lower, I will call colonial first, than ICCS

just called ICCS, they will charge me to re-grade it as it could have been an MS-60 taken out and slipped in where my MS-63 is, calling Colonial Acres now!

ICCS should regrade it, but you shouldn't have to pay for it. If the coin was NEVER sealed then it is their mistake. It would be different if it had been sealed and then openned. Poor customer service from ICCS IMO.

middross - 100% agree. I can't believe they didn't say "Send the coin back. If the holder wasn't tampered with, it's on us. If the holder was tampered with, you'll have to pay."

Ultimately though, this is up to Colonial Acres. They shouldn't have sold that coin. Given their volumes, I'm sure it was an oversight, but it's their battle to have with ICCS.

ICCS will not honor a tampered holder. lololol never had a doubt me......This is how easy it is to switch a coin in an ICCS holder. People just do not get the fact that it has happened in the past present and future with the garbage bags. CA will now just seal it back up and resell it.

ICCS-Made-A-Mistake,-What-Do-I-Do.

This is the second coin I have for ICCS that the description does not match with coin. I dont think people temper with the seal and insert another coin. The last coin is written 1947 blunt when it is pointed.

The coin is 1963 ..yet the slip says 1964. I have another where the coin is 1947 pointed but slip says blunt. I bought the coins from auctions.

Mistakes to happen. The wrong information re: date or a common variety isn't too detrimental. I once owned a PCGS graded silver 5 cent where the date on the slab didn't match the coin inside. A simple mechanical/clerical error.

Long ago I also received an "unsealed" ICCS flip from an ebay seller. It is a bit unnerving, since the coins could easily be switched. But I agreed with the grade and it was a lower value (toned) coin, so no major loss. I would definitely return any unsealed ICCS coin if I felt there was any chance it didn't belong to that flip.

i would have just sent it with my ICCS order (considering I'm 1 coin short anyways) but I paid trend for it and to be honest, I only got it because I was already paying 6.50$ shipping and it would look nice in my collection, but I wouldn't spend another 11$ to get it re-graded

MJT, I feel your pain. I bid on an auction lot a while back for two UHC ICCS coins: a 1961 and a 1962 1c in PL-66 ultra heavy cameo. I already had the 1961, but I needed the 1962. When the pair arrived I was very pleased, both coins had beautiful, deep frosting and a nice red color. However, upon flipping the holders open, I was greeted with a pair of coins dated 1961. Thanks to ICCS, I now have three 1961 cents in PL-66 ultra heave cameo, and no 1962.

The holders were not tampered with, ICCS just straight up dropped the ball, as they continue to do on a semi-regular basis.
