SilverHawk... I'm not judging... I believe I overcame minor dyslexia when I was young... Also no problem.. I was shocked that it was so many times yesterday... Both on the forum and off line... Sorry that came out so harsh Oh.. My dad calls a Laptop a Labtop... And has no reason to! So I guess I'm used to them with said name...

I went to another place I thought might have silver bars and they did not have any so it seems I am crap out of luck with buying locally if I ever want to get one. I am looking for a 5 10 or 20oz Englehard or JM old pour loaf style. I just want one to see what it is like which is impossible to do around here it seems as no one has them, lol.
Does anyone have any good online places and what is a reasonable price to pay for one? I look at some places and it's like $4-5 over spot! I'm not looking for a 3,4,7oz odd weight, I know they have big premiums. The 10 & 20 can't be that uncommon, people are picking them up every other day it seems like and posting pics!

Berk, I just bought a 10 ounce Engelhard Old Pour Load Bar yesterday and I bought it locally for 40 dollars an ounce. It hurts buying at that price over spot but I don't know how a person can buy it cheaper...with shipping ebay seems to be in the 40 dollar range or more.

I guess my point is, lol, people are picking them up everyday and posting pics but they probably are paying the premium of 7 to 10 bucks over spot when buying them.

$40 a oz is pretty standard for those poured jm and engelhard bars. If anyone is looking for some shoot me a pm. 20 and kilo poured jm bars I can get easily. Engelhard depends on stock

Thanks guys, I didn't know that bars had that kindof a premium. That's like Chinese Panda premium. Nuts!
I bought some old 90% stuff and started gettin ginto PM a little back in 2002 so I read a lot about it instead got into trading stocks (really couldn't go wrong with either as both were cheap at that time) and correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember 10 eyars ago bars being the low-premium way to go? Are the premiums on bars a new fad?

The bigger the bar the smaller the premium. I don't understand why the premium on old poured bars is so high, but I suggest buying a 50-100oz bar if you want to keep the premium lower. If you go to the 50oz section of monarchpreciousmetals.com and compare the look of the Engelhard to their own 50oz poured bar, would you really want to pay over 200 more just so you could say you have an Engelhard? Some would, I would just grab some Monarch poured bars (10oz ones look very nice) and be happy with them since they do have an old poured look to them, but just my 2 cents.

I'm glad my dealer chargers a flat rate of 1-2$ over spot for any bar no matter what brand it is...when he gets engelhards that ppl come in and sell I pick them up immediately as I know if I wanted to sell I Cud get a higher premium for those....all though for some reason he charges in the range of 3$ for maples and eagles which makes me scratch my head a little bit as to why he charges more premium on those....I never ask as ill take the bars all day long with no problem :)
