The "m" with the maple leaf above like on the back of most new cdn coins, it came out in 2006.

It's a token you could "mint yourself" after a visit at the mint in Ottawa. The machine is now in Winnipeg since at least 2011. It would cost 2$ to have one, but it goes for a lot more on ebay now.

I wonder if this is a possibility for the aluminum loonie that a poster brought up in another thread . I think a loon was used in one of the years . Artio was the one asking .
