Very nice Quote: Paypal currency conversion This boils my blood too, especially on ebay when you only realise the difference when you come to pay.

Yes...I really like your owl tet too! Great detail on the owl and tets from the mid-later "mass owl" period often don't show the incuse square. This is a great example of the type!

You are more likely to find the square on earlier coins. I don't have a tet to show but this obol has it.

This one doesn't seem much different to mine, but is in a better state of preservation... As you can see the square that the owl stands within is still present and the coin costs £1,300 more than mine does. I like your own Ancient ^^ he does indeed look like he aw a mouse or perhaps a baby! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pecV8i8M2J0The coin which I have purchased does not have a date or catalogue reference in the description... is anyone able to supply me those details?

Welcome to the owl club. What a lovely first owl. Having one without any test cuts or bankers marks is great. Having a full crest on the helmet and the incuse square makes them expensive. I have accepted test cuts and marks on my older tets:- I managed to get an early transitional type without any cuts:- My later profile type isn't so nice but it is difficult to find really nice ones in my price range. My Egyptian imitative also has a test cut but I can live with it. I don't have any of the smaller denominations yet or any of the other imitative types but I live in hope. Regards, Martin

Some nice examples...^^
If someone wants to point out the date of mine and the catalogue number I would appreciate it, these all look pretty similar in archaic types so any other hints about what features give away the date and type would be considered with interest :)

Thanks for the link, I know I have seen that page before but I should have bookmarked it.
Anyway after carefully comparing my coin to that page I decided mine appeared to be the same as a 431-393 BC, Sear 2526v., SNG München 52, Davis 143 which is type C neutral mouth I think. I hope you all agree ^^
And nice coins Ancient :) and nice vatar DV. :)
