Awesome! Very generous of you and a very good deed indeed! Hopefully you threw some gas on his spark for collecting!

Awesome! I have do similar things like that. I am able to get low grade IHC's (G-F)and Buffalo's for for $7 a roll. I will go through them and pick a few for myself, and the rest get donated to local scout troops and other kids organizations so as to help the scouts get a merit badge and to hopefully foster and interest in collecting among the others. I have given coins to over to over 300 kids and I know that at least 6 are now collecting on a regular basis. This is one time that I consider a less than 2% success rate a true success.

Good work! I'm a young collector and I know its things like this that get us hooked - for me, it was a dealer giving me a great price on some beaten up romans.

Quote:The guy that posted the ebay picture below, may have been referring to you. Very cool thing you did. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003s-MINT-...em19d08e2d26 Odd that no one noticed that the add said 203S and the coin shown is a D. And that is a great story about helping a young kid out. So many kids at that age loose interest due to no access to coins. Only on ebay or a coin store and that is usually not cheap. You probably helped make a future great coin collector.
