Hmmm, a beautiful clean cheek and no hits at all in the obverse fields. I agree with Bryan1315, it's got a fabulous strike. There's a tiny tick on Liberty's cap, an even smaller one below her eye, and a bit of scuff on her nose. The biggest mark is on the reverse below STATES; fortunately reverse marks don't have much impact on assigned grade. This looks solid MS66 to me and I wouldn't be shocked to see a 67. So, what does PCGS say?

it also looks like they used a small "9" for the date also. It may just be me but it looks like the "9" in the date is allot smaller than the "121" in the date

I haven't looked at Heritage yet. Condition Census for the 1921 Philadelphia Morgan is 6/0 (PCGS) at MS67; I'll bet this is one of them. The big mark on the reverse is more than compensated by the magnificent obverse. If I had that coin, I'd have never sold off my '21's.

She is simply beatuiful. One of the nicest 21s I have ever seen. She sure is a breathtaker. I personally only go a 66, but doesn't surprise me one bit with her being a 67. Very nice. How much did it go for? Phoenix

>$12k. Top Pop. Population 11 now, according to Heritage, but 6 according to PCGS' records.

Ok, rookie on deck. How about some help with terminology.
First. Top Pop
Second is this description:
Condition Census for the 1921 Philadelphia Morgan is 6/0 (PCGS) at MS67
It is somewhat self describing but a little further defining would be very much appreciated. Jim

Top Pop(ulation)= no coin of same date/mintmark/variety graded higher
Condition Census= number of coins that exist at a grade as certified by PCGS or NGC. Sometimes you will see PCGS and NGC census numbers combined. A high end coin like this will, 999 out of 1000 times, be in a PCGS or NGC slab.

bio, makes sense, but what is the second number, i.e. 6/0. The 6 is the number of coins at that grade. What does the 0 represent? Jim

6/0 translates to 6 coins graded MS67 with none graded higher
Conversely, it could be 5/1 with 5 MS67s and one higher at MS68 The MS68 in that case would be the top pop coin

wow I just can't believe I got it correct, once it goes above 65 I have a hard time choosing which grade it should be because the smallest thing can keep it from going that one higher grade. And once it gets to 68 anything I would ever say would be a 100% guess

Absolutely true, but just to clarify, the "one higher" coin could be more than one grade higher - for instance, Pop 6/1 at MS65 means there's 6 at MS65, but the 1 could be anything from 66 on up.
