I have never had a problem ordering halves or $2 bills from BofA. When I walk in to pick up 2-4 boxes of pennies I have never received any grief either. Since they have been so accommodating, I believe I will just have my local branch order 8 boxes of pennies a week, so I don't have to stop at other banks.

I have an account, but I have never used funds from my account, or had to swipe my card. I just call, and pay cash, maybe my branch is super nice, it's the same few people in there every time.

Haven't used BoA for anything since the early 70's. They have a fee and attitude for every response.

Actually was thinking about it this morning and I think I am on his signature card for an account at the bank, I don't have a debit card for any of his accounts, and other to write the occasional check when he is on vacation probably only one of his banks knows me by sight and that isn't BofA. So I will check this week and see what happens. I have accounts at 4 banks but only 3 that are practical to pick up coin from as Navy Fed is 30 miles away.

We have a Provident Bank here in our local town that not only will supply rolls, it also allows us to use their community meeting room for our local club free of charge. They also have an account linking program that provides our club with almost $200 a year in interest. Since we hold our club meetings there the tellers are eagle eyed when it comes to catching collectible coins and currency as they come in.

BOA has given up the silver from time to time, walk-in and orders. My favorite was a 12-box dime order about 3 years ago that gave up 28 silvers including 6 Barbers, mercs and multiple rosies. I have an account there. I stopped ordering with them because they constantly "forgot to place my order". Bunch of teeny boppers working there anywho.

I have little empathy for those who expect a commercial bank to spend their money feeding our collecting interest for free.
Get an account ... develop relationships with the managers (whatever bank you choose) ...
IMHO you should consider yourself fortunate that you were able to acquire 2-4 boxes per week.

nickelsearcher If you read my last post I am pretty sure I am on my dads signature card, I will check this week, I already have 4 banks, 3 local. I guess I can see your point though, I stopped giving free estimates years ago because they just didn't produce enough return for the time involved, so really there is no advantage to providing us with coin, account or not.

I am going to start hitting my personal bank. (Regions) I have a feeling they will not be happy with me ordering boxes.

My out of state daughter has a B of A account she and I opened for her when she started college. I used to regularly deposit funds to it. Now only on rare occasions. But when I do, I buy rolls. They tend to have a high number of newly minted coins. I've saved a few rolls that I eventually will sell on ebay. The tellers at the branch I go to are friendly.

My parents-in-law got a settlement from a class action lawsuit because of the shady tricks BOA pulled to steal money from them. Unfortunately the money they stole from my wife and I was not a part of that settlement.
Avoid BOA for any ACTUAL banking.
Of course, you can't go wrong cycling coins
