Should I treat the vertigris or leave this one alone?

If it were mine, I'd try a Q-tip with distilled water and try to lightly dab it off....good luck!

I would say MS.60 and would make a great type coin.

I honestly wouldn't dare state an exact grade as I'm not too versed in buffalos.. But I'd definitely say MS somewhere... Lol.
Beautiful coin!! Lol, the only way I can tell mine (2) are 1913 raised grounds is because of the raised ground.. The dates completely worn off both, lol.

I have a grading book plus I have some high grade buffalo's. This one don't look ms-60 at all.

{5 reasons why}
1. Rim is worn by Liberty
2. Feather is worn and not very sharp.
3. Hair is slightly worn
4. The V in five is worn.
5. The tail is worn.

Sorry if you disagree but the Grade for me is: Extremely Fine (EF-40).

To be MS-60 it must be better shape than that.

* this isn't my coin but here's a ms-60 *

If your going to compare coins you need to compare with the same type of coin. Using a Type 2 later coin is not something to compare with. Now I do have a 1913 Type 1 PCGS AU.58 and the two coins are almost identical.

The 36 looks MS but can't determine from the small dark photos. The 1913 shows dull spots on the highest points especially the horn.

@supgog

@IndianGoldEagle

Sorry but can't get better photo's. I don't own a camera. I had to borrow for them pictures. I don't want to get the people confused with my buffalo and EFLargeCents. So my buffalo is MS-64 graded by PCGS.

The 1913 looks almost uncirculated but I would only go as high AU50.

It's a nice coin otherwise.
