I roll search and keep them all. I put them in paper rolls, and then put 15 dollars at a time inside a small priority flat rate box and tape it up good, then store it away. I have over a hundred dollars after almost a year. I will eventually put them on ebay, down the road, but at the very words it's kind of a forced savings. Over a hundred dollars worth so far, and I didn't even notice the small amount of money they cost. Plus, the fun of finding and pulling the wheats!

I don't go out of my way to find them but if I see copper cents in my pocket change I put them aside. Likely have $10 face accumulated but not keeping track.

I am keeping mine because I can. However, I am only pulling them from normal circulation, not from roll hunting.

I buy several rolls a week from the bank and get a kick out of finding BU copper Lincolns. They are so beautiful. I save all my coppers.

This is illegal and they can go to prison and/or pay a steep fine.

So is Murder, robbery, etc and still that goes on.
The coin melting police are all on vacation now.
I don't save Copper Cents for the Copper. If it has a date I need, then yes. Otherwise to much trouble hoping for making any profit on bulk Copper coins. Everyone uses the phrase melt but just where do you sell it for that?

You do not. You sell as bullion. Personally, I save them to keep them from being melted.

I save them as well. I have about 100 pounds of them. I keep them because the day is coming when they will go the way of the silver coin. I don't expect to profit by an substantial amount. I just keep them for the sake of keeping them. Perhaps my grandchildren will enjoy them. Or it may interest them to start collecting too.

I do sometimes wonder how many I have though. That canvas sack is very heavy.

I have about 300 rolls sorted by date and mint mark.
I have no plans for them at this point.

This is what my dad has saved over time. The glass container is 20 inches tall and 11 inches wide. I just wonder how many pennies are in there, or if there is an elusive 1909-S V.D.B. waiting to be discovered. . . . .

I have searched over 90 boxes of pennies and am averaging 23% found rate, so I have lots of pennies.

I also keep track of Memorial (pre81), 1982, canadian, and wheat. I store these coins in the garage in a 55 gallon barrel. If someone comes in an can carry it out, they can have them. I figure that right now I have over 400 pounds of pennies and the barrel is not full. I calculate that when and if I fill the thing up it will weigh almost a ton. I calculated once that if I kept them in rolls and in the bank boxes I have over 20 filled boxes.

That's one load.

Would you take the time to roll or just leave them loose in the barrel and let your kids solve the problem after your gone. I figure that if I leave them in the barrel it would be called "Dad's Revenge".j
