Quote: Very nice coin! Thanks. Quote: Best of luck. This has been an informative thread. Quote: I agree, very informative! Definitely keep us posted! I'd like to take this time to state my displeasurement with ANACS. So they got the coin and it's gone through the process. Got a grade of N9, meaning not real. So now I wait for them to send it back. I stated I'd like an official letter stating their finding. They said it will be included with the coin when I receive it back.... So now my reason to being displeased or lack of a better word. They acquired it Friday. I have the ability to check the progress of the process. So along comes Monday and I log in to their site to see if there's any update. None yet but under shipping it states shipped 2/5.... How could it have ship 2/5 if Monday was the 4th? So after the N9 showed up in the progress I googled what N9 meant. It basically means (altered coin, not genuine, questionable authenticity, etc). I called and asked to make sure they sand me a letter stating their findings so if need be I could use it as an official document in court. So then I'm waiting as their site says Carrier - Fed Ex and Tracking - Finalizing. Wednesday (the 6th) I call and speak with someone and ask what's up... I was told the coin was shipped and if it wasn't it would be that afternoon. So then I check today and same thing... Carrier - Fed Ex and Tracking - Finalizing... So now I'm getting mad. I called again and asked what is going on. Was told that it shipped VIA USPS yesterday morning and was given a tracking number. My break at work was ending so I was heading in the door and I get an email... Basically it stated blah blah blah, shipped via FED EX and stated the same tracking number. Not even 2 minutes before that on the phone I was told UPSP now I get an EMAIL stating FED EX! Now I'm livid. I get home and call a FED EX location near ANACS and ask them to get some clarification... It's not a FED EX number, but a USPS. So I proceed to call an 800 number for the USPS. Guy stated there's nothing in the system and if I don't get anything back within 15 days I can file a claim. A lot of good that does me when I NEED THE COIN and PROOF NOW!!! This is ridiculous and very unprofessional on ANACS end especially since I sent it EXPRESS mail and they had it in a day and a half. So they're gonna apparently send it SNAIL MAIL, even after how much I stressed the importance of getting this thing back ASAP. Unbelievable.

Maybe it shipped Fed Ex Smart Post.....which is sometimes handled by the USPS (at least in my area it is).
Also, the tracking numbers typically take a day or so to show up in the system.
Any updates?

Rob might have abandoned the thread. He hasn't posted since 2/7. I too would like to know the final outcome.

I have not abandoned the thread just been trying to get the ball rolling so to speak and yes I have received the coin back from ANACS. As stated prior, mint mark added was the verdict. Now I'm working with my local detective on this matter. It's sad though... All we had at first was what looked to be an ALIAS but we weren't sure. So he said he would get pictures of all possible people that have that name.... Well, I had been waiting for him to do this and he still had yet to produce any pics of possible suspects. It's a joke. How long does it take to print a few pictures from the database and show them to me? A day or two tops! I got ticked, was sick and tired of waiting around and decided to do my own detective work. Now tell me if you find this funny.... He has not produced JACK SQUAT while I was able to find... 1) HIS REAL NAME 2) DATE OF BIRTH/AGE 3) A SMALL LIST OF ARREST RECORDS INCLUDING A RECENT ARREST How's that for detective work.... Maybe I SHOULD get his paycheck seeing as I've done more detective work that he has. This is the reason I dislike authority... So I contacted the detective and gave him all the info I HAVE acquired MYSELF and now I wait for him to pull records that the general public CAN'T and give me a picture of this guy so I can "ID" him for sure. TO BE CONTINUED....

Thanks for the update rob. I'm praying for the best for you. Doing the right thing isn't always easy but I give you lots of respect for dealing with all the nonsense to get this scum off the streets.

Quote: Doing the right thing isn't always easy but I give you lots of respect for dealing with all the nonsense to get this scum off the streets. I know you guys aren't the one's who got scammed but I'd be willing to bet this will get YOUR BLOOD BOILING.... So listen to this. While taking it upon myself to be INSPECTOR GADGET (LOL) I found out that he was recently arrested for a similar SCAM. Way more money then he scammed me out of. So he was detained and locked up with a bunch of charges against him, not just selling fake coins.... I don't know exactly when he got booked but what do you think I found out? HE WAS RELEASED! He got bonded out. Pretty messed up huh? Plus the SECRET SERVICE knows of his doings and apparently it's not much of an interest to them. DOUBLE MESSED UP.

It definitely sucks it happened to you and its not right what hes doing but other than murder every criminal makes bail. From the secret service standpoint too they just flat out have way bigger fish to fry. If you were them would you put people on this guy or keep your resources on the large scale operations that actual can devalue our currency ect

Thanks for the updates. And wow, this guy really needs to be taught a lesson. Obviously going to jail and being bailed out is no lesson. He needs to at least spend some time in jail to realize that he should stop his scams.

Judging by what you found, perhaps he's a 'career felon'--and he might be working for somebody-- Keyzer Soze perhaps? Well--good luck, I hope you can get some money back.

Most likely a CAREER for this scumbag as you stated. I met with the detective and he showed me a line up (pictures) and I didn't recognize any of them to be the guy I dealt with... Then he showed me a Mug Shot of the guy that was recently arrested that I made mention to in my previous post... It's not the guy I dealt with either... Looks like there's a bunch of them most likely doing this... In going along with the whole SCAM thing, check out this recent ad on Craigslist.... Tell me this doesn't smell of SCAM.. http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/c...0983126.html

First thing that pops out at me is, aside from the fuzzy pictures of the mint mark, is how does a guy who owns two $20,000.coins think that the face and the obverse are different sides..

"Tell me this doesn't smell of SCAM.." Yeah--the writeup sure sounds familiar, doesn't it? "I showed the coin to dealers, who think they're real, etc"--sadly, somebody else will get ripped off.
