I would say VF-25 maybe 30

Go to numismedia.com for an approx value but expect it to be worth somewhat less for a pretty common date.

The wear is pretty typical for a VF-25. I have trouble judging the true color and whether it is original or not on these posted images but I'd say it's worth around $50. It looks like a nice coin.

The coin will grade Fine+, theirs just too much wear to go VF, but still real nice coin.

That was my initial thought as well hence my post. Then I got a good look at the reverse where the detail is less worn than the obverse.

For VF20, it might go that high because of the reverse. But in the end, at a TPG, they would detail grade the coin due to the cleaning and surface nicks.

I agree with the VF-20 maybe 25 and possibly an old cleaning.
A tip? they must have loved you because that is one heck of a tip! If you EVER see that person come in again MAKE SURE you get the table!! Lol. (I'm assuming restaurant tip? But I could be wrong)
It's obviously up to you and I would never dream of telling someone what to do but personally I have to agree that I'd keep it too... That's a great story to tell... Forever... Lol... But were all "coin nuts" here.. So we'd keep anything special/unusual/old! (Disclaimer: sorry... I guess I should only speak for myself... So "I'm a coin nut... And would keep far less, lol)
Great find! ... Well... Tip...
