How do they do that. Do they heat them up, or is it chemicals? ( the artificial toning)

In this case, more than likely chemical.

In his description he states it is album toning, I was under the impression that album toning doesn't warrant a details grade?

He says it's from sitting in an album. Is that a normal occurrence? Was it the chems in the album?

If it were "album toning," it wouldn't be in a Details slab. Seller isn't in the same area code as a clue.

If the toning is natural, the TPG's get it wrong on occasion, maybe a $100-200 premium.
$3000...keep dreaming.

It certainly could be album toning. Just because some fool at NGC screams artificial toning don't make it so. They get that particular "detail" wrong all the time. But, if that were purposeful toning, I would guess electrical field. At least it looks like it could be that.

Regardless, I would certainly buy that beauty, but NOT for 3 grand. That is just stupid. Might go as high as 150, but that would be it.
