Hollywood, you can dispute a negative feedback. I dont know how long ago that was, or actual term, but ebay allows people to dispute their feedback if they feel it was unjust or simply a revenge feedback.

I cant believe youre being so hard on this ebay seller, when you obviously didnt give him time to make it right...How long have you been dealing on ebay and do you sell or just buy there?..Im thinking youre pretty new to this!

Hollywood, I have never heard anything like that.

...maybe because it can't happen. I sell a lot on ebay and the only way I can see a BUYER'S info (home address) is after the transaction is completed. I cannot randomly look at ebay handles and see where they live.

...anyway...anyone that just decides to ship something to someone outside of an ebay completed transaction is just giving it away

..."ain't gonna happen"

Edited to add: for the original poster: "5 emails in 10 minutes"? REALLY? That says it all right there...

You should not see any clad at all. Are you sure its not some toning. Contact the seller and they should make it right. Good luck.

Hollywood if you get something in the mail you did not order, its yours to keep. Evidently you not aware of that. Check with the Post Office.

I didnt even hve to take the coins out of the 2x2s to see they were clad proofs, though I did.

A bit of advice, don't take a coin out of the holder it arrives in unless you are very sure you are gong to keep it. By taking it out you have now opened yourself up to a charge of having switched the coins. general rule is once the items have been removed from the dealers holder they are considered sold. (Although ebay will often still side with you.)

Depends on when it happened. Years ago before they started hiding bidders identities you could get anyones contact information (address, phone number etc) just by requesting it from ebay. Also if they had done prior business he would have his address.

What I'm curious about is how they left him negative feed back on an item he neither bid on and won, nor bought as a BIN?
Once again it would have had to have been a LONG time ago when you could leave feedback for anybody even if you had never done a transaction with them. And it had to be more than several years ago because it has been awhile since sellers could leave negative feedback.

I always find it amazing how bananas someone can get just because someone made a mistake...even before the seller has a chance to correct the error..

Take it to the media! Don't bother waiting for a seller response..he's obviously messing with with you...

...oh, he said he made a mistake and is sending you the correct coins?

Well...whatever....

Totally bogus...PLEASE do not bid on ANY of my auctions...

I had alot going on at that time over a few days(period),I was trying to win a pcgs70 reverse proof and just stumbled upon that silver commemorative buy it now set it caught my eye,I saved it to my favorites and went back to it from time to time I didnt buy it now because I didn't know enough about the true value/history of it etc,The seller wasn't even one of the sellers for the reverse proof,Trust me this guy was able to get my info and I had never done business with him before,He was moveing the ball from one potential buyer to the next at there shipping expence,Now that I think about it,It reminds me of littleton's Coins-on-Approval program. He some how gets your ebay info sends coins that you were looking at on ebay and if you dont buy them,Then he already has another potential buyer lined up in your area who might,But he tell you that the other guy just won it and to pay to forward it to him or drop it in his mail box when your out cruzing around,Kind of smart imo,He must have been verry successful at it,Because he sounded verry confident about what he was doing with this system of his,Anyway it was kind of a burdon to me,I had 100% + feed back too.Heads up !

in my experience its not always bad when something goes wrong. I was buying uncirculated ATB'S from I think dragons coin chest or coin closet or something back in 2010. and their was flooding in new jersey or wherever they were from and they didnt send them out on time and it took along time, I cant remember the details, but they ended up giving me a few for free out of the deal because of the "trouble".

I will always remember an ebay sale I had for an 1885-CC NGC MS65 Morgan dollar that listed for around a grand. A buyer won the coin and I mistakenly shipped him an 1886-S in the same grade...just a busy day and a dumb mistake..

The buyer had a little nutty and banged me off a couple of emails that I had substituted a different coin. I told him I was sorry and shipped the correct coin to him and he returned the MS65 1886-S to me...all was fine

BTW...the 86-S was worth at least 3 times what the 85-CC was worth.

You shipped him a $3000 coin instead of a $1000 coin and he complained?

Sounds like just another day in the soap that is ebay mistakes will always be made people will always over react. And I'll waste several minutes of my life reading the train wreck that results. Perhaps waste is a little harsh as I was entertained enough to get to the end. The value of the items is not really relevant here, a mistake seems to have been made but enough time to resolve the situation has not passed before judgement was made.
