Thanks for all the help! They'll be in Myrtle Beach so I might see if they can CRH through some rolls for me while they're there. My dad collects coins too so he would probably have fun with that.
Thanks again!

East coast means he will get all Phila. ATB's if any. I roll about 10 rolls worth of quarters per month of pocket change. Since last Feb, when the kids and I got our ATB book, we have found all the Phila. ATBs except the first 2010 Hot Springs. I have a roll and a half of duplicates in a year of looking and only 2 Denver. I live in Mass. , still are missing all territory D mint quarters and a handful of D mint State Quarters. . Still amazes me how long it takes D mint quarters to travel east

Your mom says thanks in advance for ruining the vacation Most banks dont really seem to keen these days on giving out rolls to people who arent members so that could be an issue for that. If they use cash the whole time though you could probably get a pretty decent State Quarter collection out of it

Like anything else it probably depends where you go. Either BB&T or Bank Of America (may be both) wont even cash a check for you from one of their members unless you pay them 10 dollars to do it. I cant remember which one but I tried that not to long ago when I was out of town since my banks werent near by and they tried to charge me for that.

Quote: Your mom says thanks in advance for ruining the vacation Haha... Luckily my mom loves having a mission :) Plus it gives her more excuses to go shopping to get change. So from the sounds of it, a month there - shopping mostly with cash - and they might find a decent number of different ones for me. If that's the case, I should be able to easily finish off the set with some minor purchases afterwards (there is a coin shop here near me that sells circulated ones for $1 each; which is fine for a handful but a bit much when buying the whole collection). Thanks everyone!

Just another idea. Have them look for a car wash and just stick in as much money as they want. You get nothing but quarters back from the change machine. Might be easier than dealing with a bank.

Yeah, I would suggest anywhere with a change machine, much like BLUEZONE did. Arcade, Laundromat, Car Wash. You will definitely find some State Quarters. Territory and ATB Quarters are a bit trickier, but not impossible, especially in a resort town like Myrtle Beach. Good Luck!

denco7 and crazyforATB have it right at least based on my experience in CA. They all seem to be fairly common except for different mint marks. On the West Coast you get the D, on the East, P. if the mint marks don't matter, you should have no trouble finding regular circulated coins. The territories do seem, however, to appear a little less frequently. You should also be able to get some nice recent ones. Personally, I like the Denali. Good luck hunting!

Some of the smaller or local banks may be more friendly to the idea, but its been a long time since I went to that area so I really cant say. Getting them from circulation is probably the best bet, but if theyre walking by a bank and want to drop it it never hurts to ask

If you can't get them all let me know I have several sets of State Quarters and some extra Territory and ATBs I can help you out with. I'm looking to fill in some common cent and nickels from Canada so maybe we can work out a trade.
