Even here in KY garage and yard sales are scarce in February. I hit them all the time when the weather is better, though.

No garage sale's around here yet.. Do you guys often find decent scores at garage sales? I've been to a few but have never stumbled across coins. Maybe some scrap sterling..

Yeah, definitely has to be spring before garage sales start showing up. I asked about coins at everyone I went to last year and did find one gal that sold me a jar of pennies.

Garage sales don't start up in NJ until the weather warms up and even then you don't find coins.
I did pick up a couple of really cool late 1960's Hot Wheels in near mint condition. I don't collect them but how could I resist. (I asked if they had any Matchboxes and they told me that about 5 minutes before I got there some guy bought all of them. I did even want to know how many he got.)

Sorry guys, guess I'm just spoiled with the weather. I'll be garage saling this weekend in 75 degree weather. Everyone else can join in in a couple months :)

I just checked and it's actually going to dip into the 60s this weekend. I better bundle up.

By me any garage/yard sales would ccnsist of 1. Snow 2. Ice 3. Frozen snow 4. Rock salt 5. Snow blowers, 6. Shovels 7. Hart attack medicine.

I'm definitely down when the weather warms... Still have over a foot of snow here in the hills of western mass.. No tag sales yet... I do go to indoor flee markets often though... And the ones I miss my mother never does so she gets any coins there for me (we sell at flee markets almost every weekend, but since my fiancé and I had a baby I haven't been able to go as often) But one she went to a month back, she got me a 1967 SMS for $7 from some guy after talking him down from $12... and although not modern, nor US I feel worth mentioning... a bag of 9 world coins, all before 1900... The oldest a 1735 VOC East India company in extremely good shape!! All For $4!!! All were: 1735 VOC 1891 British one penny 1899 British one penny 1896 British half penny 1862 Italian 5 centimos 1867 Italian 10 centimos 1878 Brazil 100 Reis 1896 Brazil Reis 1882 Zanzibar 1 Pyso No photo of the SMS... They've all been removed and put into folders but here's a pic of the world coins... You can't really see the coins themselves but you get the idea, lol. All are in pretty decent condition.. And I collect pre 1900 world coins as well as US so it was perfect! And a great deal to boot!
