You guys are killing me.
I do have the Montreal coin also to pull out!
You know us Canadians, we wouldn't waste time making a Philadelphia coin.
Will try the stronger magnet part.

Hoop,

PLEASE make sure you try to remove the Maple Leafs coin first, before moving on to the Habs coin. That way, if you make a mistake and scratch the first coin, you can learn from it and avoid any damage on the more valuable Montreal coin.

So how did it turn out trying to get it out w/ the magnet?

The magnet is not that strong... but expect a mark on the obverse, where the magnet came into contact with the coin. You have no idea how many Vancouver Canucks keychain loons I bought, before I found one with a mark-free obverse that would grade MS-67 (Numismatic BU)...

Hot water worked......

Thanks for the info. It was actually pretty easy. SPP, I was surprised the magnet was that weak.
Doesn't look like much damage to the observe side, need to check later.
Need to figure out, how to post pictures from my cell.

Is it worth to remove this coin from the orginal packet?

You might make some scratches on the coin.

I have been collecting the silver dollar series with specimen loonies and sterling silver loonies. I transfer to quadrum containers and put into encap sheets. It's much nicer to see in a binder.
I have so many clamshell and boxes stored away now.

There doesn't seem to be any scratches or residue left on coins. Will check with loupe later.
