Well, I can see the VDB. He's not exactly showing it off, though.

He seems to specialize in coins, so he must be informed. It's funny how many of the uninitiated seem to think that any 1909 S is automatically a VDB since he adapted the portrait to the coin.

I don't think the S is in the right position to be a VDB.

The 's' is funny looking and the vdb is non-existent. Other than that a decent 1909svdb :>

I don't see a VDB on it either. Looks like someone bought it though. Maybe they have a permanent marker or a dremel tool to fix that VDB issue with?

Actually, maybe they didn't sell it. Maybe they realized people who buy coins are not usually blind so they pulled the auction.

Or hopefully vermontensium's request for additional photos made him realize he either had the wrong pictures up or it wasn't as stated.
It will be interesting to see if it pops up again.

Quote: Actually, maybe they didn't sell it. Maybe they realized people who buy coins are not usually blind so they pulled the auction. I think (hope) you are correct. It now says "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."

CoinsKelly, nothing from the seller. Maybe he had guilty feelings knowing it was fake. If that's the case, he did the right thing ;-)

I just went surfing through ebay's auctions and saw someone selling a F grade brown 1916-D cent but showing a picture of a brown 1914-D cent. The auction had a buy-it-now of $5.99. I sent the guy a message telling him he may want to correct the photo. I'd hate to see someone think they were getting something like a 14-D in any condition for $5.99.

I seem to remember the bid being $700.00 this morning when I looked at it, it now shows a final price of $900
