Nice looking coin but staying away from all those crystal coins for now on can never resell them for any type of profit

Partially disagree.

First, why to stay away, if it for personal collection, and only in case of need for money - for sale? The coin is very nice.

And some of the Crystal series will give the profit - take a look at 2008 or 2009 Coloured Maple Leaf ($20 Silver Coin) with the Crystal.

Yea, I'm wondering why you say to stay away from them as well? I have them all but the rose

Yes but how many of those crystal coins are there with all the different series I think they just over did them and killed the value of them like you said there is only a couple that hold value.I like the look of them all but in the long run every thing I have will sell someday and if there is no profit to be made I don't hold on to it.I have most too and can't even sell them at issue price.

Hard saying what will go up and what will not - how long do you keep something before you sell it? It might be a few years before the series is hot - hard saying. Maybe the maple leaf appeals to more than the flowers. I think the maple leave ones are nice though.. I'm sticking with the flower series.. Hard to start another one a few years in

Yes it is hard to tell which will be winners and losers but you just have to take a chance what coins you want to hold onto for the future. I have 5 wild rose to sell at issue price if anyone wants one.

I started the series late, bought the Wild Rose at Toronto Mint-outlet... then I check into the series and was about to buy both the 2010 & 2012 coins online for less than issue price (including shipping). I agree it's a great series to collect, however, I am in no rush to buy them as I'm pretty sure I can buy them for less at a latter date (with some patient searching - save the search on ebay).

My wife love the set so I am buying 1 each year for her, but not directly from the Mint.... I just buy, set aside and give it to her on her BD or Valentine..... hehehe.

From what I see, pretty much anyone selling these on ebay are either break-even or at a loss (after fee). My 2cents.

Good points.. Oh well I like the coins, I missed the boat on the maple leaves as some are much more than issue price. I still like the flower series to keep for myself.

I'm only pointing out the fact that you can probably (very likely) able to get it at the aftermarket for less than issue price (I've done that twice of the last 3 coins/release). However, there are others who would not mind spend the extra $20 or so to get it from RCM, because: They are supporting the mint's bottom line, get the coin fresh & right away, and most importantly: less chance of someone have pick through the coin.

The last reason can easily mitigate if you are buying through any venue that give buyer protection. Just my 2cents to save you 2000 cents when you are buying a 2000-cents coin...... hehehehe.

To me, I save the most when I combine shipping and custom charges. 20$ - 40$ savings per coin on combined shipping vs individual. So buying combined direct from the mint is to me in Europe a no brainer...

It is a beautiful coin, however, I will wait until it comes down in price....via ebay prolly in a year or two....I will hate to wait but it will be worth it in the long run.
