Congrats! Can you now reveal where you found this coin?

I think more than a few dime collectors burnt out their search engines trying to find that baby! We have a duty to re-patriate these top coins.

Was it eBay(UK), DNW, WW, or maybe London coins?

Sorry but I do have a portal where I pick up such archane pieces on ocassions and I would be a fool to disclose it. Don't buy on e-bay,DNW have decent pieces sometimes but can be costly due to competition and WW have been disapponting for Can stuff in recent years.....London coins overpriced. The coin will be re-patriated for a week at ICCS then will return to the mother country....will post result.....all the best, marbury

Congratulations on a fine acquisition, marbury. How is the market for Canadian and Newfoundland material in the UK?

The market is strong if the coin is obvious, less strong if arcane knowledge is required....50c and 25c in high grades.....early are sought after....and as to glenzy's question....my intentions are undecided...it would be a quality addition to my collection.......see what ICCS think but not letting it go for 50% trend...

Coin arrived better scans.

Perhaps some views on if it still looks MS?

Hi marbury,

Hope all's still going well with you and yours over in the "Mother Country"...

A very nice find... glad to hear it made it across the pond and back safely... :)

Now it just needs to be repatriated back to its rightful place... LOL

Canadian Coin News "Trends" lists value at AU-58 around $2800 Canadian funds... a rare example like this should bring close to full book value...

I'm guessin' you'll make a tidy profit on this one... :)

Take care,

cameron93

Congrats on the great pick-up MB518....

Definitely looks MS.

ICCS can be tough on 'dark' pieces though.

It may be technically a 63, but don't be shocked if it's only an ms60 at ICCS.

One last point...

I forget who posted asking MB518 their source but are you serious?

Why would anyone give up their 'secret' source.

One should not even ask these questions.

yes......one can only ask I guess....took a risking posting it before I bid but I wanted to be sure on what I
had. Let me just say that my source involves trawling through enless junk on a certain portal that does not
attract the serious Canadian collector. I would not have been able to afford such a piece elsehwere....least
of all on i-collector where many of the starting prices are extremely high.
