You can order online but they would rather you did not because they make a commission

Quote: You can order online but they would rather you did not because they make a commission Exactly... plus you want to build relation with your rep. If you just going to order online, why would he spend time with you?

Quote: plus you want to build relation with your rep I used to order online, but since I was assigned a MC rep (about 3 years ago), 99% of my Mint orders go through him now. He looks out for me, and I show my appreciation by ordering through him. Can't speak for the other reps, but mine has been able to 'find' some sold-out (not just the 12/13 gold coins either) items, has put some 'hot' items aside for me, knowing that I'd want them, and gives me a 'heads-up' on upcoming items. You don't need a rep, but why not use his services if it's offered to you .

My rep told me that if I ordered online he couldn't represent me...thus...I no longer order online.

A rep can also give you special offers such as:
I am pleased to extend an opportunity for you to purchase the 18-karat and 1 oz Year of Snake coins for only $700. OFFER ONLY GOOD FOR 3 DAYS
I have never regretted having a rep....they are good people that will go to bat for you at any time.

My rep not only gave me the free Birks necklace but was able to get me sold out items.
Dino from the first issue, War of 1812 gold coin, 5 penny set in silver, and in addition order more coins that the standard allotted. Only the special penny roll was exempted.

thank you all for your kindly answer. I know its win win through a rep purchase. but, for some extreme case, like glass insect series, is it possible to get max amount through both rep and online? or the system will cut the loophole and stop you from placing order again?

My rep said certain items can go above the limit. Some items cannot and ordering online and through your rep could ultimately cancel one of your purchases if there is multiples and above the limit.

If you spend over $2,000 a year, you can call the mint and ask to be assigned a personal agent.
