Yah, its actually a good idea. Could have two series; a silver color on engraving and a nickle color only set. Could even be expanded to special issue quarters. People would love it. It is a good way to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary, 2017. if they issue 4 coins a year that's a 3 year series.
We should petition the mint about this one.

If they did. Could we have money back for the "Ideal copyright" ? At least give us a set for free. Lol.

For fresh water fish... I like crappies and sunfish! They are the only fish that showed interest in my backyard worms

There probably wouldn't be much interest for this, but I personally would love to see the RCM do some sort of coloured multicultural food coin series. It would be interesting to see dim sum, poutine, kimchi, maple syrup, tourtiere on coins. They could house the coins in some sort of commemorative food replica tin. I'd buy the entire series.

Finally a topic I'm interested in! Lol Quote: You could have the different native species to Canada ie. Northern Pike? I've thought about a fish series many times but the problem is most fresh water fish in Canada are not native here, the pretty ones anyways. Most of them were introduced here from European countires like the brown and rainbow trout. Quote: Another vote for the Fresh water Fish! A nice walleye\pickeral would be a hit! Yeah walleye/pickerel might be tasty, but they aren't really a 'pretty' fish. A pickerel attacking a school of bait fish might work, but they certainly don't have any colors that would make it stand out on a coin. Also considering one of the most iconic fish that helped develop much of our eastern provinces, the cod, also isn't a very photogenic fish. Not to mention it lives in salt water. FYI - These are the words of a fisherman. I have hundreds of photos of myself with freshwater fish, and I am all for a fish series, I just think a series would have to be well thought out and executed for it to be successful.

How about an endangered species series, with some proceeds going to help the situation. Unfortunately there are too many animals going on the list. But it would be a series I would support, lion, tigers, elephants, leopards, and on and on and on...

Another proposition would be: - astral constellation - planets and their moons - Capes of Canada And a final "not serious one" => Cows of Canada

Maybe even a 4 coin series of rural animals we live around everyday. Raccoon, Squirrel, Chipmunk, and Rabbit. I would like that.

I would love to see a coloured series that features the flags of each province and territory.

I think the mint should release a silver-plated holographic 75 cent coin series, with a variety of playful fictional creatures on them, kindof taking the whole ladybug coin to the next level, and reducing the cost by not using pure precious metal content. It's hard to describe exactly what I mean, here is a rough proof of concept: http://assets1.ignimgs.com/2013/02/...c60_800w.jpg
