there is probably over 3000 new mc members from the gold coins alone, and along with the hype just look at moon mask the first one didnt sell out , the 5 oz. penny took weeks to sell out with a better theme yet this group of coins created a feeding frenzy in a few hours

John100, I agree with you 100%. The new MC members must have caused the Mint to lower the limit of 3 of the glass bug coins to 2. They must have realized that they will run out pretty fast if they allowed 3 coins. As it is, the butterfly coin sold out in 1 1/12 hours.

i actually disagree, MoneyPenny. an email sent out 2 days ago stated clearly that Butterfly is limited to 3 per and same goes for Moon. my feeling is that during that time, huge amount of orders came in and RCM changed their mind. it would explain why there is a delay in releasing web orders (delay of over 13 hours) to adjust the order limit.

I beleive the reason it sold out is because it's a very popular painting and older collector bought with out thinking twice.. Coin dealers 500 older MC 1000 sounds about right

Talking about it resale potential, that seems to be very low, you forget about numismatic value.
I personally do not like the coin, but I think, that it was bought by collectors and dealers. And due to very low mintage the coin was sold-out.
No hype, no hoarding, no "buy-n-flip" unrealized profit.

Frankly, I think the coin looks ugly and it is pretty much the same version as the one that Perth released. So far there's only one listing on ebay which explain why it is selling over $700+. Keep in mind, this 5oz is the most expensive one yet at $545. I would put it as one off....
