i agree that the butterfly was going to set out no matter, but the frenzy caused the moon coin, maple, 5 oz. queen to be sold out in days, but in the process created many unhappy mc member thus the survey yesterday.

Well I definitely should be available to all MC members because I am sure most MC members who missed out would like a say. I did not miss out but I would also like a say for the future.

Doesn't the RCM also set aside a portion of the coins for general release availability? Surely the RCM must know that it's only good business practice not to alienate a large purchasing public. As others have echoed in previous posts, what might make things more equitable is to control CP so they can't presell any coins until the same day as the mint release. That way everybody has a fairer chance of securing the coins they want.

@cookiecutter - I am not totally sure but I do not think so. Awaiting stock so if there happens to be any more at the end or shipping them all out or if people decide to return then there may be very few that make the general release. It will only last minutes though. And they may decide to give them to dealers, CP, or put it in their boutiques so don't get your hopes up.

@ tristen1230 & @unclekim - I actually think that's unfortunate that they don't set some aside for general release. I suppose it's why there's so much anger/dissatisfaction over customers being unable to purchase coins.

@cookiecutter - Well I guess even though it sounds rude but if you want the coin spend $1000 a year and get MC. The mint wants money. They want it as quickly as possible. So if it is still in MC and they have extras it will go up during MC release.

@tristen1230 - I actually am an MC member. But based on complaints, many MC members couldn't even get some of the coins because they sold out far too quickly. I just feel for people who aren't MC members (or are) and their frustrations, especially if they've collected an entire series and can't purchase the final coin. I actually ended up buying a butterfly coin for a friend because she was afraid she wouldn't get one when the coin was released to the general public. She's not an MC member. So, I stayed up until about 3 AM waiting for the release which never came. Then I woke up at 6 AM because of reports that they'd release the coins then. And when 1:30 rolled around, I was frantically refreshing so that I could purchase her butterfly coin for her. It shouldn't have to be like that.

I just completed the RCM's survey. I have indicated my frustrations to all the shipping issues, especially my gold coin hoard, delayed MC email notice, no established date of new releases, insufficient allocations for MC members, outside outlets pre-selling, outside outlets having higher limits than RCM and failing to deliver on time. Hopefully, RCM will streamline MC program to improve the advantages of spending so much money annually.

I spent over 1800$ in 2012 on RCM coins and still not in MC because more than half of my purchases were from PO or the dealers

Face it guys, collecting new issues are only for the fat cats. There is no real respect for the average collector. Yet it's mostly grandparents/parents who buy the coins across the board, if you go by RCM reviews. I love how people say there's no money in coins and turn around and buy 35 to sell on ebay, and if they don't sell at a huge profit return them. Examples Dino 2 and cancelling subscriptions after they get the box. I bet these people won't be collecting 10-15 yrs down the rd. rox

ive been a MC for over 10 years now....i collect alot of coins from the mint and I'm not a big fat cat LOLOL, I enjoye de variety of the mint....i do collect silver coins from all over the world too. MC dont mean a coin for sure...i could not get a butterfly coin...too bad.....if collectors want coins earlier just try to make a good contact with a MC membre that only orders 1 coin per issue, so he or she can order another one for you...That's what I do with 2 persons that are just starting to collect...I love being MC...
