I'm a little confused to the numbers. Take for example 1912 $5 coin
1538 (Sandy Campbell) - 140 = 1398 1398 - 1323 (estimate) = 75
How does this give an accurate number for the PHS? Are we to assume that the estimate is correct? or am I reading the chart wrong? Who gave the estimate? and where did daryl get his numbers?
Did Sandy only confirm the Bank of Canada Hoard and Released by BoC?

I doubt Sandy will ever divulge any further information here, or to anyone else, other than the numbers accessible from the RCM. I would suspect there were confidentiality agreements signed over this...

@coin_games, This will hopefully resolve the PHS $5 coins...here is a photo that I took of the official RCM communique provided to RCM authorized distributors. The RCM phone reps use the same communique too, and my dedicated rep verified the numbers mentioned below are in deed correct. I took the photo of the communique of the sheet that shows the UPC codes of the $5 and the 'volumes' the mint uses for quantity issued.

From my understanding, he was involved in advising the mint on how to bring this into market. It is possible that the mix of released coins changed from the time of his involvement, either way there is a difference of +/- a couple hundred coins by year/denomination and the total release of 30,000 coins (840 set, 5160 PHS and 23,832 HS). @marty - with either set of numbers their were 30,000 coins released and about 5000 PHS @coin_games - yes, he only confirmed total hoard by year/denomination and release year/denomination, the estimate is based on what I have seen on the larger thread. @coinplus - nice, by any chance do you have the $10 sheet? @SPP-Ottawa - Not sure on that, but he was ok with being referenced and releasing the numbers For those that have not seen the Sandy Campbell - Don Willis interview at PCGS dealer show auction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNCmKLTwkWw

Hi purelywasted, Got the clearer images of the official issue numbers of the HS and PHS $5 and $10... So, you can update the spreadsheet accordingly. $5 HS $5 PHS $10 HS $10 PHS They came from official RCM communiques.

@purelywasted - now that the coins have been released, you are probably right about information being able to flow more freely. Certainly, information that was said in that PCGS interview was relatively unknown, before the coins were released...
Thanks for the PCGS video link.

Here are the updated numbers, using the RCM sheet. Thanks to all, especially daryldaryl, coinplus and CC-Ottawa for their help on getting these numbers together.

That's an excellent analysis and good work. Thanks for sharing! It looks like the market got flooded somewhat, but at the same time it is nice that more people now have a chance to own a piece of Canadian history.
However, I feel bad about all of the coins that were melted. That's history that is now lost :(
