Goldenchest, I am by no means an error expert...but do occasionally pick up error notes. That being said, I would not payup 5 bills for something like the op's error even if it's certified and in a holder.

Fwiw, on error notes.... rare does not equate to high premium. Just my 2 cents.

Ok so I know what it come back graded has a lot to do with value. I am a far cry from a expert on currency. I will say that I think this note is rare and worthy to be graded. I feel like someone here should know a value. So can anyone help this guy out?

Wallendusty, I thought I had helped with one of my prior posts showing this was a known error, has been certified, and book values with images of 2 examples.

Sorry jim61 I guess I just got confused with the post $2000 for a $1 and you saying it was different for mine and the one on ebay and then mine also being different. Then one guy saying 500 graded and one saying not so much. So I just guess I may have wanted a better starting point before I went to the coin show. Sorry for the confusion. Oh yea I have talked to wallendusty so he was just trying to help me thanks

IMO - If you take this note to a coin show, with out knowing what grade it is .. and what it's value is .. they you will not get as much as you could.

If you just want to make some quick cash .. then you may do ok at a coin show.

If it was me .. and I took it to a coin show, I would get offers .. but ask if that price would be good in the future.

As others have posted the best way is to send it in and get it graded.
Then I would contact some of the high end dealers and see what they offer.

If you want maximum profit, then get it graded, then sell it at auction by trying the BST and see what happens, then either ebay or one of the major currency auction houses. To sell it at a coin show to a dealer, you will get a buy price offer, not a sell price offer. But if you need to sell it quickly, then a coin show may be best.

There are just too many variables that are not known to give a more precise option.

Well went to coin show today the guy I talked to told me my best bet was to send it to Fredrick j Bart he said he knew him personally and he would be very interested in this . He said that was my best bet to find a value and to know exactly what it is I have. He could not put a value on it.
