It doesn't look quite right to me...a glance at the fake reports dont show anything though. The reverse seems to be too...flat. I dont do much greek stuff but someone will be along that does. I think I see a sprue. 12 oclock and 6 oclock on the photos. Check the edge - it may have a seam which would indicate its fake. Oh and  to the ancient forum! |

The style--to my eyes--appears to be a modern Bulgarian copy. But that's just my guess.

I can't find a matching fake - but I must agree with the others on this one, doesn't look right.
It looks like it might be a modern pressed copy, maybe a museum replica. There seems to be missing details between the upper hair and the laureate wreath, as well as possible signs of a casting process on 6/12 o'clock.
I really don't like to comment on authenticity as sometimes it can be a touchy subject, but I feel strongly this is not the real Mccoy.

Some of the photos seem to show a seam and nearly all the photos show evidence that the edge has been filed - this would be to hide the seam.
Its a pity - its a nice type. Is it silver?

Haha modern lol. See the deal is... that I can't sell it cause if I do I go in jail. Does this makes it real No? I would never sell ancient coin that is found in my country land(no offence). Utterly modern - explain it please. Magdalena is my girl I asked for a favor to post here cause I had no time for it. I am not pro in coin collection I am more like gold prospector I have coins but once I found out I can't sell them - well not on ebay. I gave up I need money but I needed money years year ago. Month ago they caught someone from american council smuggling ancient coins .... guess what they worth a fortune and they just look as bad as this one. Magdalena never asked for it - real or not. I we, she know it's real cause we know the origin of the coin. Lot's of auction houses sell this coins - did you know that alexander the great crown was found in my town, yes yes in my town and than sold to greek tycoon together with alexander the great shield yes ... Do you know that my goverment today scanned my whole town's land searching for gold and silver piles ... no you don't, a she we don't never smuggle I am computer techician for christ sake. If you don't like the answer it's best not to ask the question.
No one has attacked you personally, they have just stated that they aren't convinced its genuine, not only that they have stated their reasons for not thinking its genuine also.
I am sure we are all well aware that ancient coins have been found all over Macedonia/Thrace, but we are equally aware that the same region yields many of the counterfeits also. If you think the coin is real fair enough, but you asked for opinions and you got them.

So you ask for advice and info and then get offended when it doesn't match what you want? no offence but that's not cool, relax some my friend. what is its origin? how does said origin prove its real?

This is a friendly forum with many experienced, knowledgeable, and expert collectors. They are only trying to help you ID you coin and to save you from owning a fake. Sadly in your part of the world there is a high degree of fakes being produced, some that are so good that they have almost gotten by the experts. If you are not satisfied with the answer you got here, than you should take your coin to a trusted expert in your country preferably to a large museum. Lets keep the discussion friendly.

I am sorry if I offended someone. I was over my limit on booze yesterday - and we talked about ancient stuff(and than I come back home and...). That's why I stick with my modern coins.
This document is on my language, but there's a some of the museum coins.
