I purchased the Sandy Knoll software for $7.95 bryanb1 per your recommendation. Tell you what. I just needed a simple, easy to use interface program for my coins. It goes from Colonial-Dollars. All I need. Areas for comments as well as photos. I have more than 32 coins so I purchased it. The free trial version would be great for those who just have a few coins. I am transferring all my coins from my ledger to this. That way, I have a computer backup as well. Thanks again .

I use Coin Organiser Deluxe, by PrimaSoft. It is great! There are different databases templates to use, and you can use the designer part to create all the information fields you could want - text or numerical. There is of course room for pictures. You can filter by any of the fields, print reports, barcodes, etc...
I used to use a basic, free version of an inventory programme called MyStuff, but as the collection grew decided to invest in a more comprehensive option. Well worth it, and it makes keeping track of my coins a breeze! Sometimes it is like looking at my coin collection without actually looking at my coins!

Quote: I use coin manage 2008 , any one know how I can move the program from one computer to another ?I got a new laptop and want to install it I have never used the software, so I will briefly discuss a generic process. First, you would have to install the software on the new computer. Do you still have the installation program (might be a CD/DVD or a file that you downloaded) from when you installed it on your old computer? Second, export or copy the software's database from the old computer. You might be able to just find the DB file and copy it. If you cannot copy it, or are not sure what to copy, look in the software for an export function. Put the copy onto a CD/DVD, flash drive, network share location, etc. Third, import or copy the database onto the new computer.

Were you able to keep a copy of the file you downloaded? If so, you should be able to copy that file to the new computer and run it again.
If it downloaded and installed automatically, then it is probably gone from your cache by now. Did it require activation once you installed it? If either if these scenarios is correct, then you might need them to help you.

If it's not in your cache, you also might want to check out your recycle bin. By a remote chance of luck it might be sitting in there waiting to be recovered,

I use Exact Change.
Before I got EC I tested at least 4-5 other programs but found that EC was the most easy program for me needs. There are some things about EC that I would like changed but basically I am very pleased with EC.

I currently use Coin Manage 2008, I find it very user friendly. It is Basically an Access Database. If you are familiar with Access you can Add or change pretty much any field. I also like the way to add this year coins.
I have the program on a USB external HD, with both my desktop and laptop pointing to it. so all info is always up to date regardless which computer I use
I used Coin Keeper Deluxe for a couple years but was always outdated.

Without having to do a lot of research - can anyone pop off a quick list of Mac-compatible coin inventory programs? My Macs are loaded with OS 10.4.x and I'd rather not depend upon my aging P3 Windows machines, even if they are running XP. Thanks.

The thing with Numismatist Notebook is that with the free version you are able to enter a limited amount of coins. Once you hit the limit, you get a nag screen with a link to the website to purchase the software which is fairly inexpensive. I like both programs, ( CoinManage and NN ) havent decided which one to run with though. NN is more my speed in price. Say what you want, I'm cheap. :)
