It's a gorgeous coin. Bald Eagles are one of the few bird coins I don't buy (hey, you can't collect everything, and even I can't collect *every* bird coin!), unless they were part of a series/set I was already buying. However, this coin almost tempts me to change my mind!

Quote: Bald Eagles are one of the few bird coins I don't buy That made me smile! Bald Eagle coins are about the only bird (or animal) coins that I do buy! It's a good thing we collectors have varying interests, otherwise there wouldn't be enough coins to go around!

After being disappointed by "100for100" Bison and Grizzly, that I did buy, and thought do not collect "100for100" coins, I decided to collect only the chosen designs, and I will order the Eagle (but will trde/sell the Bisons and the Grizzly).

@ commemsI know this is off-topic and please pardon my ignorance! I've been intrigued by your avatar for awhile, and despite trying to identify the coin which reads United States of America Half Dollar 1937, I have not been able to find (i.e. Google) any information about it. Would you please enlighten me about this coin, especially about who the dude in the hat is. Thanks! P.S. Can you identify my avatar?

@NuMoosematist: Here's a link to a short post I made about the coin that is my avatar: https://goccf.com/t/114841. I think it will answer your questions. Re: your avatar, I believe it is Robert Bateman's "Bull Moose."

Thanks very much for the link to your post commems! I will now be able to do some research on this. I can now read Sir Walter Raleigh on your avatar. Congrats on correctly identifying my avatar. It is indeed the "Bull Moose" lithograph by Robert Bateman. I chose it as my avatar because I am partial to Moose and I splurged for all of the mint's Bateman Moose coins, including the Platinum rendition, which is actually a reverse image of the lithograph which has the Moose facing to the left! See archived coin here: http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/plati....Uu2On_ldV8FHere's a better image of Bateman's lithograph: Now back to the thread topic. I would like to see a Moose depicted on a $100 for $100 coin.

The mint surprises me every time.....I got my Bald Eagle coin 4 days ago, without notice or anything, just hanging out of the mailbox when I got home. just now I got an e-mail saying the package was shipped and its on its way.............how can 1 company make so many mistakes...........

Agreed Solidifier. But I never get shipping notification e-mails.
I also don't like that packages are just being left in my mailbox. What happened to requiring a signature? They are still coming xpresspost. I used the tracking number on the box that I received Friday to look it up on CPs website and the signature is blank. I'm not sure if this is the Mint not requesting a signature or Canada Post being lazy.

Quote: i sure, that you didn't miss the "Moose" coin of the "2004 Majestic Moose" coin and stamp set. It looks great! Firstly to Silveroid, thanks for thinking about me. You were right though, I do have this cool set. In fact, I have two. I saw one in our local post office when it was issued and bought a set. Unbeknownst to me, my wife had already bought one there to give me as a little gift. Secondly @ all, I received my email notification today, even though I received the coin last Friday. Also, there was no signature required, although supposedly the mint's policy is to ask for one on orders over $100.

I have been getting emails prior last year, I'll have to check if I got any notifications for my 1 Oz igloo coin I receive last month. I was surprised at shipping speed in January. I had hoped it would have come in a clamshell, but it was secured within bubble wrap. A bit of a let down. I've never had to sign for mint parcels, only Canada post ones. I can't wait until my eagle arrives. I had promised myself no more buying from the mint, except for the Great Lakes sub &!1 Oz O Canada sub. These two one hundred dollar coins are a must for me. Also with free shipping the worse that can happen the bank gets them. I really like the images. Hopefully the coins will look nice.

2014 subscription for the $100 for $100 is awaiting stock. And there are only about 1520 single $100 Bald Eagle coins still available at RCM.

The bald eagle coin looks really nice. I'm not surprised how popular it is. Another bald eagle coin that I like comes from the Perth Mint just released a few weeks ago.
