It's just too bad it's "circulated."

You know you can list a coin for anything you want. I sold a Morgan with rim ding for less than that with XF details. You know that is not going to sell and is worth less than melt since a big chunk of silver was taken out.

I would give him maybe $20 just for the silver.

I'd say melt is around 15$, and that's what I'd pay for it.

How much would it cost to have it melted down?

Youd probably get 90 percent of melt from a smelter maybe 80%

It would still be a plugged coin worth melt only.
Not worth the time or money.

This is one of the very few instances where I wouldn't have a problem with a silver coin being melted down. "Ouch!" really does say it all on this one. It hurt me to see this coin, poor thing needs someone to put her out of her misery.

Very true. It probably will sell and when the buyer realizes that he over paid for it he will probably complain that the coin wasn't what he expected.

Vermontensium - you beat me to the SGS dig.

But are they authentic holes?

I'm leaning toward PMD.....
