If you know someone who works at the FBI or local PD crack it out and have them run it.
If it turns out to be Jimmy Hoffa's print it wil increase the value 10 fold.
I have found a few halves roll searching with aged fingerprint toning and have them in my reject collection for that very reason.

It has some of the characteristics of a fingerprint, but it doesn't look as if it is one to me. Yeah, that's what my old lady says, too.

I don't think it is a fingerprint. Maybe the coin was cleaned/buffed then the buff lines toned. It looks like a center-point for rotation is in-front of Washington's ear.

It is in an NGC no problem MS66 holder, so I do not believe it has been abused. I am "over it" so will not be bidding. I am convinced that it is indeed a fingerprint. I hate fingerprints. I have returned more purchased coins because they had fingerprints than for any other reason. One thing for sure, unlike on some of my purchased coins this one shows up in a photograph. Here is the link to the auction, and no, this is not my coin. http://www.teletrade.com/coins/lot....429&lot=1521

I don't think its a fingerprint. If it is either you have a very small thumb or Andre the Giants thumbprint is on it....

Fingerprint toning is occasionally seen on silver but copper will usually just turn brown and ugly

OK, I have spent ENTIRELY too much time on this, have had to shoot numerous photos, explain two black thumbs, and spent a bunch of time in Photoshop (I am not any good at Photoshop). I switched thumbs, and tried my best to duplicate what I think was the orientation of the original culprit. Looks like a match to me, IMHO. I am a normal size guy, 5'11 or so, do not have "Burger King" hands. Actually my hands are not delicate at all, my Dad said I am "hamfisted", though that was probably a reference to my grace with handtools. Ah, but I digress . . . . Here is my latest masterpiece:

Even before your photos, just looking at the original TT photo, it's obviously a fingerprint.

Quote: adds character to the coin It actually makes me dizzy just looking at that intentional f-print. In fact that's the type photo design that I used to stare at as a kid until it started to move on its own.

So if its in a problem free holder, how could it be a fingerprint? Or do they not count as a problem in the TPG eyes.

Then again, I'm not seeing a 66 here, either. For the record, I'm a relatively small man (5'-7") and I can cover a Quarter completely with my thumb.

No sale. The starting bid was $85.00 Trend is $95 for a "66" I agree that it is not a "66". Maybe it was market graded in consideration of the fingerprint! Imagine . . . . nobody popped on an overgraded '50s Washington with a monster fingerprint. Heh-heh-heh. Monster Fingerprint. Heh-heh-heh. Imagine what the doctors will do once a premium is placed on fingerprints!! I have a bit of a jump on 'em eh?
