The coin hasn't just been rubbed, it has been very harshly cleaned.

That's too bad. I guess VF would be about right, though. It's only worth bullion unless it's a rare assayer/mint.

I'm not familiar with that coin but unless it was minted in poor condition I'll agree with the harsh cleaning. It would have been graded higher but the cleaning made it worse.

Prethen has it right: the coin has been harshly cleaned. Without the cleaning, I think VF is accurate. It has some detail, but is otherwise worn. I can't guess how much of the loss of detail is due to the abrasive cleaning and how much due to circulation, but the whizzing (steel wheel, steel wool, or something along these lines) removed a lot of the metal.)

Its a Republic of Mexico 1 Peso
Mintage 8,226,000 minted in Mexico City. In VF worth about $12.50 Fine about $10
is made from 0.903 Silver so actual silver weight will be about 0.78oz
which gives it a bullion value of around $10

Here's how a circulated Cap & Rays should look and the date isn't too bad either (Richard, do you know anything about this date/mint/assayer?)

Sorry that this coin has been harshly cleaned, but the rim is interesting...I believe that is one or more Cuds that you have there.
Cool.

yeah that rim, I noticed that too. could it be done in the minting factory or just the result of circulation?
if it was done by the machine would it be considered an error?
uhm I wonder.

I read somewhere that you cannot grade a coin that's obviously been cleaned. I'm sorry my friend.
My guess to the grade is impossible because of the cleaning.
