Great looking coin, looks AU to me. Don't know much on the repunched dates on these, sorry can't be of more help here. Where did you pick it up, ebay or LCS?

I would agree on the N-7 attribution.

noticed the pics you sent were not the completed listing on ebay. Would love to see that info to confirm that sales price. Find it nearly impossible to believe this coin sold for that price.

I'll share I did have to do a little work on this when I got it. And it was there for everyone to see. Again I got lucky and that happens to ALL of us now and then. The next question you'll ask is how the green come off? It simply come off with GOOF OFF I sprayed it and it run right off I was not expecting this result I was very happy with this coin. It's a lot of work and time to find good coins cheap on ebay if it were easy I would do it for a living. So here it is 290911740743 believe it or not if I'm lying I'm dying. I do want to thank you all for your comments this is a very good forum I'm glad I found you guys you're all great.

Last question is a N-7 a better coin or pretty avg var? I don't grade many coins but I'm thinking about maybe doing this one since I do have room to add a grading fee. Also would PCGS add the var for the reg fee or would I have to submit as a var and pay a little more to get them to add that? Thanks again

In order for PCGS to put it on the holder, you'd have to pay a small fee for variety attribution. Very nice coin for $10! N-7 is considered very common as compared to other varieties.

PCGS will likely note the coin has been treated in some fashion (the Goo Gone, which isn't something we recommend around here - there's another product far better for the task) and put it in a Details slab. I may be wrong.

Wow, great coin for an unbelievable price! What a pick up!
I agree with SsuperDdave that although the Goof Off did an amazing job that now there's a pretty good chance it will land it in a details slab which in turn will greatly reduce the value. Therefore I'm not sure if it would justify the grading and attribution cost... Even though the initial cost was great. Maybe it would, I guess it depends what it grades at and if it gets a details designation..
One thing we constantly say here is "never clean coins", as it dramatically reduces value.. For verdigris (the green that was on your coin) there is a special cleaner used that doesn't harm the coin. Actually one of our members (BadThad) invented and sells VerdiCare, a generally market acceptable cleaner for this... If you look him up on this site you can order it through him. I wouldn't ever recomend using Goof-Off, especially on high value coins, because even if the verdigris dissapears all the value the coin holds might as well.
