If Ted left it alone I would too. Nice old silver!

And I'd say your wife is fine just the way she is, as well!

Add me to the chorus saying to leave it alone! I don't see any reason for this coin to be "conserved".

Beautiful coin and congrats! I find myself growing obsessed with these coins, I've bought a 1662 2pence and and a pinetree shilling this year, I love the history behind them

Thanks steviegetz - I am wondering if you would be willing to post photos of the 2 coins you mentioned. I would certainly like to see them. They are intoxicating!

What a fantastic coin!! Talk about history!!

I agree with the masses: Leave this lovely coin as is!! I really don't think you could improve it and you definitely could harm it. (I've heard they're not going to make any more of these!!)

I would love to post a picture of them, but I have trouble with the image omptimiser on my ipad, here is a link to the shilling, it's very attractive in hand http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=434&lotNo=10

Beautiful Coin - Congratulations. Thanks for posting it.
You might check to see if your ipad has an edit feature for images. If so you could probably go to "resize" and bring it within the 100kb limit.

Thanks, everyone for your advice on (not) conserving this coin. I am not touching it!

you gotta love that apple makes their products obselete shortly after they produce them, so I am unable to download the necessary app from the App Store:/ , the two pence was holed and repaired and is raw, I wish it was never repaired by the previous owner tho and left in it's previous slab. the color is unnatural:( but I still love it
