I sell all my duplicate coins on ebay. Anything that's worth $20 or less I put them up for .99 cents and they bid like crazy. I sell maybe once every six months or so usually about a hundred or 200 items (not all coins). Last time I sold on ebay I doubled and tripled my profit expectations. The shipping is the easiest you can get. I get free tracking on all my shipping and PayPal handles all the transactions. While the fees are a little high they are nothing compared to Heritage or Teletrade fees. Even Great Collections charges 5%. Been selling on ebay for about 10 years now and never took a loss. Reach a lot more people than a few at the local coin shop (who also sells on ebay).
Just my thoughts.

B&M around my area are glorified Gold & Silver exchanges. Except one, and they did not offer much more when I tried to make a quick sale. CCF (which I prefer) is hit and miss; it depends on what you are trying to sell. ebay has options; auction, Buy It Now and Make an Offer. My collection is getting pretty eclectic and specific which narrows down the potential buyers who share the same tastes. "Roll the dice and take your chances"

I find a lot of volume at USA Coin Book. They charge nothing for posting a sale and after the sale it's a flat 3% fee.

I first try to sell to dealers - or other collectors - at local coin shows. That escapes the fees and tax issues and I'd say I've sold about 25% that way. Then I sell on ebay. Haven't sold that much but so far everything I've listed eventually sold - took months for a couple of them but with patience everything went. I have only sold "extra" slabbed coins so far though. Extra raws are next to try and from what I gather that is much tougher territory as so many are listed! Good Luck!

There is no "one and only right and true answer" to your question. The place that will provide that elusive "best profit" will depend on what you're trying to sell as well as where and when you're trying to sell it. In addition to those three different layers of constantly shifting sands, everybody who can use a keyboard will have a different opinion about what is the most "right and true answer" to your question..
Good luck with your quest for a concrete answer to an unanswerable question...

Use to use ebay until they started feeing to death. Now I use eCrater, no fees for listing or selling, listing can remain posted as long as you want, add as many photos as you want to each listing free of charge.

No offense, but I must say I get annoyed that at this forum someone always seems to have to post a YMMV warning/scolding in about any thread asking for some opinion and help. Does anyone really think such warnings help in any way? Seriously, to scold someone for asking an "unanswerable question"? Seems just an ego stroke thing to me. Like a plea for others to chime in and agree that there is no one true answer - of course there isn't - but what does pointing that out contribute for the OP or anyone else? And it happens all the time. Would seem more constructive to just positively contribute or move on. Why constantly drumming the YMMV thing on every subject. I think everyone gets that by now! In fact, everyone GOT THAT without being reminded in every thread. Quote: There is no "one and only right and true answer" to your question. I have seen guys accumulate a lot of coins, over years, then sell them at coin shops (getting their own table).
Some have done really well this way

If I'm selling online I do USA Coin Book. If I'm selling offline I do that on the show circuit.

How about payment acceptance? What do you use? Paypal is easiest but see why some prefer a money order. Why charge the additional shipping fees for lower cost coins when a stamp is sufficient?
