Nice! I really like the Masonic one alot! I have only come across two, and kept them both... One has a large 5, and the other is a 1964 with Kennedy's face.. I like the Masonic one much better though! Nice find!

Actually was bidding on ebay for a set of 2000 Lincolns counter-stamped with the out line of the each state on 50 coins in an album with a history of the 13 original state. Should have won it though but I didn't follow through with the bidding.

I was following that too but I passed on it and bought 40 ounces of Stackers instead. I had to show some kind of restraint lol.

I recently found a 1968 JFK counterstamp, my only one so far. Are counterstamps really worth that much more? Maybe I can find a stamper and start selling them. Might even make enough to buy myself my first gold coin!

I don't believe so just a novelty I suppose. Just something different and interesting at best.

I have a few JFKs from the 70's, but never have found one in the wild. Nice find.

Ha! Thanks Raymo for plugging my counterstamp post! These are always fun to find. Can't believe how much action that post has gotten since my absence!

How do people make them? What do you need in order to create the counter-stamp?

Are the Lincoln-Kennedy cents (like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...190850946639 ) considered "counter stamped" Lincolns and is there a way to know if the price in this auction is reasonable or not?

Yes that's a counter stamped one. 1.99 is totally reasonable.
