Quote: I may try someday to acquire dates after 2001, but 1959-2001 has been plenty of a challenge so far. I haven't worked on this set in a while, but here it is... Very nice!

GR58, I should apologize. I didn't mean to hijack your thread. Seeing your coin is giving me the itch to get this set back out and continue the hunt! I just love these OC Lincolns! Another member here, robbudo, has an amazing Indian cent collection. If you like error coins, you should see his collection. It's gotta be one of the coolest IHC collections I've seen!

Quote: My notes say that 2006 was the big crackdown year for errors escaping the mint. 2006 and later you'll be hard pressed to find anything more than the fairly scarce 10% OC coins. I have NEVER seen a coin dated later than 2006 more than 10% OC Anything dated 2002 and after is tough. They may have tightened up even more in 2006, but generally 2002 is considered the date. Off center coins after 2006 are very, very tough, but can be found. There are actually some very spectacular errors dated 2006 to present including offcenters, double struck off centers, large broadstrikes, off metals and much more. 2007 seemed to be a good year for errors, despite the mint's tightened error prevention procedures.

Quote: paid $5 for the P and $20 for the D. Mine were nearly the exact opposite! My 91 was almost $17 and my 91-D was almost $9.

I remember seeing an off center 2007 (can't remember if it was P or D) on ebay quite a while ago. It was slabbed and went for some pretty serious money as I recall.

cwb8539: the '91D was so expensive because the coin was slabbed by ANACS (MS-64 RD). I'm sure that cost someone $15. lol.

i saw this thread as an exception to the rule 'one coin per thread'. I saw an important question 'how much are they worth' and appreciate the various off centers posted. Great thread.

1991 is one of the rarer dates. Very nice find! I've only ever seen them 5-10% off centre for 1991.

Excellent thread with great examples and info on these off center errors.
Thanks to all involved.
