Quote: Would someone care to remind me again why these are the find of the year? Is it just because they were rare and a lower mintage produced? there is 4 coins (unopened sets)

The premium price is on the gold-plated rattle, which is much scarcer...

Yes, but these are still going for triple issue or higher.

Great find! I just sold my last one a few months ago http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-SILVER...em3cd1b1b13bThe offer I accepted was $325.00 I've had no problems selling these when I've been lucky enough to come across some. Still have two in my collection that are not for sale.

Great find! I just sold my last one a few months agoWhy didn't you post it earlier somehow? By example of one member here, I started to search some beautiful/significant Canadian coin from year of birth of my son, which is 2007. And this coin/set - could fit perfectly (this is even a Baby set) Still didn't buy the coin, and think that it will be my choice.

I think, you understand me.

- is there a COA with this set? and is the mintage of 3200 accurate?

According to the New Charlton Volume 2 (collector and Maple Leaf issues) that just cam out, 3,207 were sold. There is no COA inside the folder.

Quote: The premium price is on the gold-plated rattle, which is much scarcer... For a set that was originally selling for $35 the bidding on e-bay is fetching easily in excess of $200 in the last six months. I missed my opportunity to buy it for around $120 a year or so ago. At least there are a few of the silver ones going around. The gold one is relatively sparsely listed but the price on e-bay has stayed about the same in the last year. Is there a relationship between scarcity and price. Well for the 2007 baby varieties: 2007 silver rattle - quantity sold 3207 & selling for $200-300 on ebay2007 gold rattle - quantity sold 1911 & selling for $500-600 on ebay2007 block - quantity sold 3229 & selling for $ 1000+ on ebay (hardly available) Clearly the 2007 baby silver loonie statistics seem to defy the logic that more scarcer the higher the price. Now I must wait to trade my 2007 wedding for a 2007 block and 2007 silver rattle. Call me a crazy loon.

Last gold plated rattle sold for almost 800$ (going up I guess) and what intrigues me the most is that the ABC has 1.5 times the mintage of the gold rattle and kind of the same for the silver rattle and the blocks. the rattles pop pretty often on ebay, but the blocks almost never ... Why ? Not cool. And I was lucky enough to pick the wedding for 700 2-3 months ago and was so happy ... Was really surprised to see one go for 400, WoWoWoW !

It's taken me sometime but after reading this post I checked all around post offices in my area. All I got out of it was some bad take out and an empty gas tank. Nice find
