Third coin looks like Roman Republic denarius. Obverse is the helmeted head of Roma; reverse shows Victory in a biga.

The letters on the reverse tell the moneyer. Looks like those letters are CALD (the things further to the right are the horses' legs). There are additional letters in exergue but I can't make them out from the pictures.

My guess is that is from the family Coelia. Your coin may be one of the first three shown on this page: http://wildwinds.com/coins/rsc/coelia/t.html

We have to keep in mind that whilst Bulgaria is a known source for fake "ancient coins" it is also a country that has been ruled by a number of ancient empires, from Alexander III, Rome, Byzantium and the Ottoman.

So real ancient coins do come from there, but there is a ban, as in Italy, on the buying and selling of antiquities within the country.

Fake "ancient coins" have been produced in North America, Canada to be precise, by the notorious "Toronto Group".

One thing that bothers me with the Octilia. The hippo type antoninianus has "IIII" in exurgue. There appears to be very little wear on the denticles around the exurgue so how did the IIII wear off?

I really don't like to comment on authenticity but all of these coins to me look wonky.

My friend even if you dug them up yourself, you wouldn't be the first person to dig up FAKE coins.

It seems that there has been some "found" this way. I suspect that someone was trying to gain general acceptance of the "type" of coin, you know, knowledgeable archaeologist digs this up gets lumped other coins, the perp. gets lucky, and the coins are accepted as legit in books and such and boom the perp. is a millionaire, because he can punch out a bunch of these authentic looking coins. Some of these fakes are so good its something only a lifetime of continued study or formal instruction could teach you.

Anybody ever seen an inscription like the exurgue on the reverse of the Nerva? Never seen anything like that. The closest thing I could find is ARAB ADQVIS on a sestertius.

I do not want to argue with you guys but I'm inclined to believe the person holding them in his hands and make a living by evaluating artifacts!

No one is arguing. Since you are being combative, I would now have to assume that they REALLY are fake, and you are testing the market, seeing if you can pass them. When some asks you what firm you used it is not an argument it is a question. We are all collectors here.

Now with that being said, get out of here with your fake coins.

"Gentleman ..... You can't fight in here ! This is the 'War Room' !"

President Merkin Muffley
from the movie Dr. Strangelove

The coins look 'strange'. They may be genuine. They may be fakes. If you are happy with the provenance and trust the 'authenticater' then the discussion need not turn disagreeable. Hopefully you will make additional finds which will be more pleasing to everyone !
