No I haven't bought anything form Littleton although I did request a catalog- I don't recall being asked for my phone number when doing so.
The outfits calling me seem really sleazy. The guy this morning sounded like a New Jersey carnival barker and like he was calling from a big boiler room operation. Sort of like the ones organized crime uses as fronts. It just seems odd, four such calls in a couple days. I told him I sold my collection, just to get rid of the call.

If your number is listed in the phone book, if they have your address, they have your phone number as well. Just do a reverse search on the address. Even if it isn't listed that are probably databases out there that DO have both your address and number that can be searched.

I went with the Littleton deal a year ago for 20 president dollars for $20 (can't lose)

While I am rarely home as I spend my time after work CRH boxes I picked up at lunch and I don't answer calls I don't recognize on the caller ID I have to say I rarely get unknown calls I guess due to WI do not call list.

On a related subject, I kept getting 3-4 calls a day from this 800 #.
I found out after research, it's the Red Cross. I have a rare blood type.
It got so annoying, I finally had to call block them.
Talk about harassment.

I've been using a call screening device for years. Hadn't talked to a telemarketer in years until one called me on my cell phone a few weeks ago. I'm hoping he was merely using a list of randomly generated numbers, as both the landline and cell phone are on the DNC list - which doesn't stop illegal and allegedly charitable organizations from calling.

Research is simple - just type the entire number into a Google search box, and any telemarketer's numbers will show up on 800notes.com.

I no longer have a land line so I miss the telemarketers. I really do miss them, they are lots of fun to "play" with.

My phone is connected to one of theose answering machines. In almost every instance, the minute a caller hears it's a machine, they just hang up. The calls that are comuterized, just ramble on during the outgoing message and then get cut off. It's great since I can hear who is attempting to call and do whatever I want. If it was important and I'm not home, I can always call them back. Today so many people don't have a land line so this is getting to be not so common.

The great thing about caller idea is that it gave everyone a secretary. No more listening to somebody trying to do a financial parody of Donna Summer's Hot Stuff over the phone. Yeh right and when they hear that answering machine --- oops better hang up fast the boss won't like the long distance charges. Of course these slick sharks also tended to hang up when you said you would charge them $600 per hour to listen to their investment of the century. They also didn't like to hear about the uncle who has ocean front property for sale and he does and did live in Arizona before George Strait wrote the song.

Why not have some fun. Next time you get such a call, tell them your really interested but hang on, I"ve got another call coming in. Then hang up. If they call back, do it again and again.
