That would be great, I always welcome the advice of those who know more than me :-) Which is everyone here at this time lol. Wouldn't you know, I am about to open a box of nickels and 2 more boxes of pennies. One of the penny boxes, even though from a different bank, has the same number printed on it as the my first amazing batch. I hope I luck out again, saving that one to the end. ***update The box of nickels turned out a no date buffalo! Score! First box of pennies turned out 18 wheat pennies, including a 1941 d that filled a hole in my book. There was also a 1917 that was darkly discolored but did not appear to have much wear on it, wheatlines were visible. 2nd box produced 19 wheats! I took a 1925 from this batch and replaced the one already in my book. So, for my first weekend of CRH, I got 193 wheat pennies, a dateless Buffalo nickel, a good number (forgot to count) of 1959 and earlier Jefferson nickels, and a silver dime. I am pretty pleased!

The good luck continues! I just went back to the same bank that had the good box on friday (156 wheats), and got another box. I just finished it, and pulled 107 more wheats. I will add some more detail after I wash up and make some dinner. ** update Ok, so I have been extremely fortunate with the quantity of wheat pennies I have scored in my first 4 boxes ever. If my math is correct, the total for the 4 boxes is exactly 300 wheats. Many of them appear almost uncirculated, as if they were put away immediately. Full wheat lines on tons of them. The more I look closer, the nicer they look. Here is the breakdown from this box today: 30 x3 34 x2 35 x3 36 x2 37 x10 38 x2 39 x5 40 x4 41 x8 42 x4 44 x2 44d x2 45 x4 46 x2 46d x1 47 x2 47d x1 48 x1 49 x3 49d x1 50d x3 51 x3 51d x3 52d x7 53 x2 53d x3 54 x1 54d x2 55 x2 55d x1 56 x2 56d x7 57 x5 57d x2 58d x2 here are some pics taken with my phone

My goodness! Insane! My box had 13 wheats in it, and I was pleased with that. there's only one downside to your first couple boxes: you may not come close to that many in a LONG time. Good luck though! Hope I'm wrong.

Nice, sounds like you hit a wheat vein. Mine it! Go to all the other nearby banks and get as many boxes as you can ASAP.

good ideas. I tried today at two banks, and could only get one box. I could look for others tomorrow. Do some mining for sure! I did get the sense that they had one more box but didnt want to give it up, like it might be the last. When the next shipments come in, they might give up that first box. They all have the same stamp # on it. I assume that is batches from delivery trucks and these 2 banks use the same truck deliveries. still to new to know what the heck is happening.
also I kept 4 or 5 s mints that were not wheats. I'm gonna tally up all of my wheats to see what I've got. Prob make piles of 20s, 30s, etc. more coin fun since I have nothing to search at the moment.
also it comes out to 1.5 wheats per roll for 200 rolls!

Ive got a new box, but it not from the same batch.... hopefully I will be able to pull some out of here. Time for reality to set in! My head is still in the wheat clouds
*** update *** pulled 11 wheats out of this box. A nice, normal count. I will still try to find some more of the good boxes. If I get any more good boxes, I will post here, otherwise I will take it to the other threads :-)

ok, I went back to the bank and they were not happy to see me again, heh. I broke out 8 bags of m&ms and now all of them love me. They checked and gave me the last 2 boxes of this special batch (at this bank). I'm not sure if any more are around.
I just opened the first box and there are 10 wheat ender rolls :-) This is going to be a fun night. Chocolate sealed the deal for sure.
thanks all for the coinspiration, I could not have picked a better batch to make my CRH return!
***update, first box had an amazing 198 wheats. I found my oldest yet in the batch, a nice 1916, and filled a hole in my book.
2nd box has 9 rolls with wheat ends. Must keeping opening.

Yep, cleaned em out today. Got about another 330 wheats today across the two boxes. My math was off a penny or two. I also got one roll with 12 wheats in it today, the new record. The 2nd box filled 3 holes in the book. 1921, 1937d, and 1953s. This book is from coins found in circulation throughout my life, gonna keep working on it.
The first box only had 2 rolls without a wheat. 2nd box had 4 rolls without.
Possibly I might be able to squeeze one more of these from another bank once their new shipment arrives. Not sure when I will be able to get there. I don't have a car, I hike these coins around the city and home, and lots of work coming up.
That makes about 630 new wheats in the collection since last Friday.... hard to believe it!
