Ooh... I've got some really awful foreign currency, but not so much US. If "Philippines under US Sovereignty" will pass here, though, I'll put this one forward.

hajduk - would you sell that 50 for $75? The ten for $35?
And publius - post all your horrible currency! That 5 peso is the worst so far!

Does obsoletes count? I have a couple more that are worse but I already had this one scanned! As an aside, the surviving estimate of this note is 40-50.

I received this one in change from my LCS, so I assume it is only face value.

This first one has quite a history. Belonged to my grandad. When we were helping grandma sort through his collection (long) after he passed we found this note. It had been stored in PVC plastic for at least 30 years. It was oily, soaked with PVC, horrible. My wife took it from the holder and the soggy note ripped under its own weight - right in the middle, a vertical tear from the bottom to the center of the note (not all the way through, just to the center). The note was later dipped in acetone to remove some of the acetone. It took out the acetone, but faded the color as well. It made me sad to see the state of this note since I consider Alamo National Bank of San Antonio to be one of the gems of the national notes. I am pleased to say I now own a much nicer $10 national from the same bank. When I was looking for that note, I found another ugly one:

All this terrifying currency is bringing back memories of my first viewing of a Lifetime film! Ehhh! Voshus is winning so far - with his horrible 1923 $1.

Does anybody have any objection to me putting this currency in my magazine?

I was hoping to see a few graded notes in this thread by the title. I always like seeing a strong Poor 2 or About Good 4 slabbed note!

Im afraid that I don't have any really grotty US notes but I couldn't resist posting this gorgeous Brazilian 500 Cruzieros, which has been in my collection since I found it crushed into a ball in a crack in the schoolhouse wall 40 years ago!

Voshus - that 20 is disgusting! But that is the objective of this forum. NumisRob, same with your Brazil note. It has an interesting story to it, though.
