Eric of Drake Sterling Numismatics is very good. He'll give you his opinion of how a coin may grade first before he sends it for you. This is good because PCGS will still charge you the fee if for a coin and grade it genuine/cleaned etc. If you're not sure just send a couple of coins to start with. And don't be in a hurry current lead times for PCGS are through the roof, you might wait 6 months to get the coin back unless you pay for express.

thanks purple penny but unfortunately he seems to be over east so I cant use him. as for time to get coins back, that doesn't worry me so much so long as I get them back. I am a bit worried about them getting lost in mail. has this happened to anyone b4? and how would you go with a claim?

so the coins have now arrived at pcgs, I ended up sending 9 coins at a final cost of $670. I was told to expect a long wait. how long do you think it will be before I learn the grades on regular service?

I was looking through the US section and I think it is around a month to two months. Probably closer to the second after I heard they had a major show or something.

If they are predecimal coins then expect to wait up to 6 months I have been told.

My modern order which is meant to take 16 days is at 59 as of today. They have HUGE delays at the moment.

Hi enworb.
Is that 59 business days ?
Modern are out to 42 business days, or around 59 days including weekends (rough calculation)

I think the Regular submission you used, is a quicker service than the economy.
Hopefully not 6 months!
