NICE FINDS!

Especially, against all odds, find TWO 1925-S coins (one looks to VF)....that's AMAZING.

why?! Then you don't get coins BACK.

Only until I run out of exact change!

Before, I often had five dollars in nickels & dimes in my change purse. Getting rid of those freed up plenty of space for halves & dollars. And I'm a world collector anyway, so it's not as though I'm variety-hunting in the local cash registers.

Thanks for the replies! I haven't had the chance to go through the rest of them lately but I did manage to find the 1910 that I misplaced!

I've been keeping my pennies for many years now too, but I couldn't imagine trying to sort them now.

I sort into tubes all wheaties by date and mint. I also sort into tubes all AU+ Memorials and Zincs. I don't see a lot of Denver Coppers, so I put them into tubes too, even if they're not AU+. When a tube gets full, I roll it.

The rest would be Coppers from Philadelphia, less than AU. I drop them into this huge jar that I used to use for wine making. No way I'm going to count them, but if my math is correct based on the height and inside diameter, you're looking at about 45,000 cents.

I'd read up on Lincoln Cent varieties before dumping all those babies back into the wild. Wide AM's are just one variety you could search for.

I've been slowly sorting through all of the Wheaties. Yesterday I stapled a few up in some 2 x 2s.

1939D & 1963P

I threw in the '63 cause it was purty.

I've still got a lot to go through. I have noticed that the majority of my Wheats are from 1938. I'm talking at least 30% of my coins are from that year.

I wanted to add this one just so you didn't think I was making it up!

1910

I have yet to find any variety of 1909 penny, so this is the oldest Lincoln Cent in my collection.....so far.

@Afterimage - The'63 is pretty. Did you get that out of circulation?

I searched a box of pennies a few days ago and I got I canada penny and 8 wheaties. Is that good or bad for a $25 box of cents?

Just a note - BE CAREFUL - when picking up a glass jar that large full of coins. They can and do shatter and could cause serious injury, I had that happen to a friend and he was close to severing an artery in his arm. I think he took several surgeries and several hundered sutures, then a couple of months of phyisical therapy to get healed. Just don't want to see any coin collectors get hurt.

Yep, just last week I found that '63 in circulation. A couple of days later I found a '59 that was even prettier than the '63 in circulation.

I finished sifting through my remaining Wheaties. Here are the oldest ones (besides the 1910) that I've had for who knows how long.

So-I-Went-Through-All-Of-My-Pennies-Last-Weekend....

Left to right, top to bottom:

'11, '12D, '16D, '19, '19, '19, '19S, '19, '20S, and finally an '05 IHC that snuck itself in there.

Time to pull out my 2 x 2s and start stapling.
