Impressive! But why are they rotated every which way?

Very nice. Agreed that you might not be as OCD as many of us ... I do prefer my album coins to be oriented in typical coin alignment. David

nice coins; I think I'm putting together a short series , but just something like 1847-1856 maybe in the XF range.
And what is with the haphazard rotation?

Nice set (especially the 179X's) Quote: But why are they rotated every which way? My guess is that due to wear and minting techniques of the time etc combined with the fact that Dansco cannot cut 2 holes the same diameter to save their life all you have to do is pick up the album and the coins rotate (my Franklin album has the same problem)

Nice set of lg cents, I like the early dates the best. I'm doing the same. I have put halt on my set for the time being. Baring the two 57's, lg and sm date, I'm complete from 1823-56. I haven't attributed any of the varieties yet but I will one day. None of the albums made for the Lg cents have the right size hole, if I'm not mistaken the mint changed the diameter about three or four times during the coins run, so hence the holes are all the same size causing the annoying rotation...

The S-196 is an 1800/79 overdate. No such DBLC as 1800/99.
The S-188 is a 1799/8 overdate. Only overdate involving this year.
Great looking collection so far! Thanks for sharing.

Funny you talk about rotation. I've only been collecting vs saving for a few weeks now and I'm already finding myself "fixing" things in my wife's albums. LOL
