I think they're colorful.
Since your asking for our options, I say I don't like when they tone like that.

The toning I like is when they change to red-ish color. Don't know if you got any proof Lincoln's from the 60's but they're the tone I like.

Dang it solotime the last thing I need to do is get on ebay and look for examples of more coins. I'm broke enough as it is.

I have a question. Why are the mint marks in different places on these 2?

That toning is sweet. Count me in as one who likes them. Is a reddish tone more common than a colorful tone on lincoln cents?

Those are large date. The 70-S is well known for producing rainbow toners from the mint packaging. Here's my PCGS, I also have a few raw ones. I have never seen a small date with this toning....but I have seen some incorrect slabs from NGC and PCGS.

Yep, like others have said, those are both definitely large dates. I usually don't like toning, but these do look nice!

In that era, mintmarks were added to the dies by hand so there is some expected positional variation. Mintmarks on business strikes were added to the hub design in 1990 while the transition for proofs occurred earlier in the 1980s(I do not remember the exact year offhand). Adding the mintmark directly to the hub that makes all working dies eliminated the possibility of repunched mintmarks since it was no longer manually added to the dies.

Well I knew I had one of those kicking around... But it's not a 62' Also while looking around for that, I found these! I forgot all about them!
