Quote: I feel Jake should have the chance to respond. Whether it be to maintain his original story that he believes is the truth or to apologize for it not being properly portrayed. Either way,,, it would be nice to know he was at least given the opportunity to respond to us personally Jake had plenty of time to come clean with the truth. The Admins were waiting for the video for some time, and Jake knew that it would be reviewed. Maybe he thought that it wasn't going to be taken seriously. I dealt with Jake in the past and even had the pleasure of meeting him in person, he seemed like a good kid. That being said Jske seemed to be on a wierd trip as of late here on CCF. Does anybody remember the post regarding the 1985 pointed 5 penny? Jake attacked an ebay seller telling him that he is part of the CCF counterfiet coin police or something of the sort, and that the seller needs to remove his listing or it would be removed for him. Turns out that Jake was wrong on that one too.....

I find this a very sad situation where jakedacc makes this statement on this forum slamming a dealer who has been in business for a very long time without going to the people who own the business first and giving them a chance to deal with their employees. All the comments after his posting did the same thing without proof as one poster said there is always two sides and in the end two sides were heard and admin did what they thought was right. There seems to be damaged to both parties involved and this is the sad part. Bob

qbvb - jake made references to him going into the store. CA said that they remember him coming in, and how he had left some items on the counter, which he never returned for. I'm sure CA knew who this guy was and pulled the associated footage. Admin said that they watched the footage and compared it to his version of events. It wouldn't be difficult to take the statements of jake and CA, and determine if the actions on the video up to the point where things "went bad" are consistent with the stories.

just saying if you can't identify the person someone could easily pull footage from a different time frame that is not jake... or even stage it if this was indeed true. I'm not saying this is what happened and it probably is the correct footage but you don't know unless someone can identify him that has met him. Personaly I have had nothing put great service from CA

Wow! A real CCF scandal.
There's probably more to the story than this, but it's not healthy to dwell on these things for too long.

I agree with middross, it seemed as though the blunt 5 thing was a little outrageous, but compared to this.....I don't know what to say. Seems like some one went on a trip and never came back.
Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.....

Jake, has had a few hiccups on this board. He ran a contest where he didn't send out any of the prizes to the winners. The 1985 penny ebay incident. Took a long time off, and came back to say sorry "he messed up" when things cooled down. Also he has multiple ebay accounts, some with many negatives, where he has ripped off people. his main account j_coiner6 which shows fairly good feedback jakedacc1 this account will show you many negatives, and leaving shill feedback to his other account there was also a third account that would bid up his items, I use to have the id but cannot find it off hand

I think the mods did an excellent job handling this situation. Since no additional comments are to be expected from either party, might we consider not piling on either one? Just a thought...

1) How long is the video provided to CCF? How long does the feed continue after he left the store?
2) I have dealt with CA twice, ordering online from their website, and the only problem I ever had was that they shipped me 20 Lakota Copper Rounds is individual flips instead of in a tube, but I keep all empty bullion tubes, so I just repackaged them.
The bottom line is that even if the alleged events occurred, two inept hired help does not reflect on the whole company.

I think his other e-bay id is jd-numismatics. I realize this is the great big inerweb where I can be anyone I want....but if a person wants to destroy a persons livelihood I'm glad Admin was able to step in and offer Colonial Acres a way to defend themselves Now I wonder ....what if grandma is still alive and kicking I bet she's peeved about him flogging her ring. sorry I couldn't resist. If she has passed Rest In Piece Gran. To Admin: If this is in poor taste please remove.

So not every negative comment about a seller is true? Hard to believe someone would make up a story like this since we all know every coin store has video proof of what is going on. I want to thank CCF for taking the time to research this. I will say I have noticed a lot of complaint threads lately. From bad ebay sellers/listings to bad grading to bad deliveries. I hope people get happier as we head into the holidays.
