It would be nice to see the comparative valuation, OP probably would have received an annual evaluation from TRCC, is I did.

just remember, if you want to sell it then the price you will get will be far different from its "value" on a valuation that is paid for

or pay to get it graded with PCGS. you will get the maximum amount for it if it is slabbed and you try to sell it with little or no rep on ebay

I would say try and get it graded by PCGS and then try and sell it through Nobles auctions it should make the auction highlights and will be seen by many more prospective buyers

well got to help a fellow collector out :) but srsly I have seen 1st hand some of the tactics used by some dealers. such as a dealer being handed a 23 half penny looking at it and then asking the person "so what have you got there?" with the next statement to come out of his mouth likely to be "I can give you $20 for it" if that person replied "I don't know" or " a coin left to me" that's why it is smart to get it graded then the con grade is not in question when you go to sell it. my 2 cents

I believe that coin will grade MS63BN (maybe 64BN but it's a little hard to see from the pics), in my opinion you would be better selling it as is (through an auction rather than to a dealer) than getting it slabbed as BN coins (unless they make 64/65 or are a rare year) normally achieve better prices raw than with PCGS, just my Two Cents. It also depends if you are in a hurry as PCGS takes 3-4 months at the moment.

Thanks guys for your help.
I take it there is no real standard to see what its worth even after its graded. As its only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it?
Unless its worth a heap of money I may just hold onto it.
If anyone has a ballpark figure on what it may be worth I would gratefully appreciate that.
Thanks

The ebay link above is a good indication of value. $600-700 maybe.

Your coin is worth $500-750 noting you would have to pay an auction house or use a site like ebay to sell it so you should factor in about a 10-20% cost for that. I think the above valuation of $600-700 is very fair, remember we aren't trying to buy your coin and have no vested interest in what it's worth, some dealers on the other hand....

If you search for 1912H Penny on bay you can see a couple more examples, albeit with optimistic prices. Quote: I take it there is no real standard to see what its worth even after its graded. Thats correct, you need to do some research. Start with ebay but some of the online auctions publish previous results, check them as well. Quote: As its only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it? Quote: Unless its worth a heap of money I may just hold onto it. For me a heap of money is green and at least an inch thick. Just kidding its up to you. Edit: What dcoin and enworb said is spot on.
